You can score 2000 plus but if you dont win the cast it DOESNT count for anything.

They take double cast wins first than hi score single cast wins.Scores that are not cast wins does not count.

from what I'm seeing in zone 1 , friday night cast wins are the only ones that count or they precide over saturday cast wins But I don't see how a non cast winner from friday can advance to saturday

It is not an advancement, all dogs must hunt both nights. Double cast winners are put on top to advance to the world. The rest of slots alotted for the particular zone are filled by highest single night cast winning scores. Also if you scratch either night you are out.

You can make it to the finals with a cast win and plus points from either Fri 0r Sat night. Depending on the # of double cast wins that is needed. If they have 10 places to fill for that zone, and don't have but 8 double cast wins, the 2 dogs with a cast win and the highest plus points from Fri or Sat night gets the last 2 positions to make the ten dogs needed. You don't have to have a cast win on Fri night to advance to Sat night. You do have to hunt both nights, if you only hunt Fri night, and not Sat night, you withdrew.

so a dog with 125 cw and 100 minus next night wins over 50 plus cast win 225 plus no cast win second night?
so other than two cast wins it goes to highest score from a single cast win either night?

No, not with minus points. A dog with 0 on one of the nights could possible place with a cast win on the other night if it came down to it. This could happen if there was a need to fill all of the positions for that zone. I guess if they needed to they would take a dog with plus points on both nights. Minus points want help you in UKC.

To be honest, the zone I was at, the field reps really don't know who's going. And there was, and still is, some boo boos on the scorecards
Steveburch, study zone 1 results then explain them to me . Maybe they are mistakes . Seems to be a pattern with major events.

dog# sat. fri.
367 100- 150+ cw
480 125- 125+cw
395 225+ 50+cw <<<<<this dog did not advance to Shreveport.
top two dogs were in same cast sat. and are showing advancing to Shreveport, this is what is confusing to me.
What I'm getting from this is that the dogs with the highest score from thier cast win determines placement unless you have a dual cast win then your in like flynn which makes this two seperate hunts instead of a two night hunt for some. Very confusing and contradicting .

Close
this format contradicts AO format. I don't see how you can call this a two night hunt, without two cast wins only one night really matters, your best of two seperate scores. The bottom score gets tossed out.
I think a true chamionship hunt should be a double elimination hunt. Two losses and your out, keep winning you keep playing.
Maybe I'm just not understanding it fully, after all, I am just a dumb hillbilly

Down and Out: read what people like hoosierman1 and slough are telling you. it doesnt matter if dog 395 had plus points, because it wasnt a "CAST WIN". The only points that matter are the CAST WIN POINTS. Notice that dog 480 cast win was 125 and dog 367 cast win was 150. Those are both higher than the 50 point cast win that theither dog had.
In a nut shell: The dogs with double cast wins advance by there highest cast winning score, then the next highest single CW scores advance. It is not a combination of plus and minus to get a total overall score.
Just because you fail to understand the system doesnt mean that they did it wrong!

I understand that now. If that's the case why call it two night hunt? . Don't call it a two night hunt if you can't combine the scores. Call it two chances to make it to Shreveport. Just like playing golf with your buddies on a saturday, you get one mulligan. Another hunt dictated by guides.Congrats to all that advanced, good job.

Sorry Slough , I didn't read your post. That explaination I can understand.

It is a "TWO NIGHT HUNT" because you MUST hunt both nights in order to advance to the finals. You do not have the option of hunting one night only.

Gotcha, just hope you draw a good guide one if not both nights!

Politically Wrong?
I still don't get it either. I see several cases that fits that discription. A two night total doesn't count? A dog with a good score Fri night but has minus points the second night, is that not a fault? I know I've been out of it for a while but it don't add up.
Not sure why so many are confused by this.
Double plus point cast winners advance first. If any open spots then it goes by the highest single night cast win.

new to UKC wasn't sure how they worked it, sorry to be such a pest. Guess I should read the book. Zone hunts came after my time, I understand it now, don't agree with it but understand it.

both
dogs i mentioned both had cast wins{1 each} the dog that advanced scored zero{0} fri. night
the dog that didn't advance sored 500 and had a cast win with 450..... so 1 good night beats 2 good nights??? does that sound right..NO
SO
BASICALLY I GUESS IS HOW DOES A 0 SCORE MOVE ON?
0 is the same as the other dogs first night. If you don't win your last if you have a 1000 plus and don't get the cw you lose.
