Foundation Stock Mtn. Cur Breeders Association

Bubbas, here http://fsmcba.webs.com/ is a link to the Foundation Stock Mtn. Cur Breeders Association. Now I don't know if this bunch of folks are still together, but they had the right idea, as they wanted to preserve the old time Mtn. Cur. It want make all you KSBA and OMCBA folks go blind to look around on their site, trust me.

They wanted to perserve the type of dogs that I like to hunt. But, in my humble opinion, they closed the books way too soon. I had an interest in joining but at the time I didn't have anything eligible. I didn't have Streak dogs, mine were mostly grade dogs. Now, I have 5 dogs here that would have been eligible but the books are closed. I don't see any reason for ever closing the books other than $$$$$$. I've also talked to about 3 different former members that dropped out for one reason or another so they have had "Issues". But, a fellow can raise they type of dogs that would have been eligible for the FSMCBA and register them with the KSBA or OMCBA. There are a good many people doing this now.

I am not sure if you talked to them at the start Al but they wouldn't tell you a thing either. All they wanted was your money, I tried to talk to them a couple of times. I decided since I was raising and hunting "foundation" dogs prior to their inception and doing just fine without them I would just continue to do so.

Besides I don't need a club nor a registry to tell me how to breed so I'll just register them as I have for years.
