Bayer tree and shrub with fertilizer
I know a lot of folks use Bayer tree and shrub to take care of fleas; however, anyone ever use it with the fertilizer additive on their dogs? I got a buddy who bought some by accident and opened it before noticing... His dogs are big enough and don't need the fertilizer, but in all seriousness has anyone ever used this blend? If so, did you see any problems?
Thanks!
Why not just use 10% Permethrin ? It's actually labelled for dogs , it's cheaper , it's safer , AND it kills both fleas and ticks. Bayer T&S only kills fleas.
You can get the Perm at any farm store. Read the label and use it as perscribed.
I've used both the Bayer and the Perm and the Perm works better in my opinion.
Here's a link for you: http://www.amazon.com/Durvet-Inc-Pe...z/dp/B00061MSS0
I wouldn't put fertilizer on my dogs.

The amount of fertilizer in it wouldn't make a cowpea with a shower of S--t and a shower of rain everyday. I don't know why they bother to put that little tiny bit in it other than make you think you are getting fertilizer. Why is anybody scared of fertilizer? Haven't you ever gardened? I sling fertizer by hand and plant the rest of the garden with it in my boots. Or maybe you was Green Gardening and been scaired off by reading "Mother Earth News" LOL..
Permethrin is fine if you know what you are doing. It is a Cholinesterase Inhibitor. My friend had a bottle of a dab on flea killer when it came out 20 years go that was a cholinesterase Inhibitor. Problem was , he kept it over winter and it rusted the cap. Then it evaporated and got stronger. When he did use it the next year it was stong. Too Strong. You ever seen roaches running , running , runing in circles? That's a bad way to watch a dog to die. I never seen a roach pay any attention to fertilizer.
What l.lyle said. They don't put enough fertilizer in there to make a difference. Just enough to put it on the label to sell more.
When I first learned about using this on dogs I read a LOT on the internet about it. And then I read thousands of reviews on many different sites. There are quite a number of bad ones with using the added fertilizer in the Bayer. Probably over a hundred that include eberything from dogs vomiting to plain and total hair loss where they applied it. We have yet to use Bayer with fertilizer since we can still find it without in numerous different brands. I would just avoid it if I were you and just pick a different brand. As long as it is 1.47% Imadicloprid it will work. We use it in conjunction with 10% permethrin. Use 4 parts Bayer to 1 part Permethrin. Then we just squirt a line up there back from tail to neck (50# dog gets about 20cc) It works!
