UKC World Championship - Zone 1

Is it possible to go along with a group at this type of hunt? If so who would I contact when I arrive at the event? I know I have to keep my mouth shut and my light on the ground. Thanks

you would have to be down on the card as a backup handler. but only one backup handler per dog. or another option is being a non hunting guide. all guides are picked by me. and as of now we don't need any extra guides.

Yep. No spectators at the World or Zones, just backups.

Perhaps someone will see my note and consider interviewing me as a possible backup handler. At least I'll be able to attend and meet some interesting people and great dogs.

ya, show up and visit. you might just find someone that will let ya go as a backup.

Somebody needs to step up and find this guy a way to the woods.

Thanks for the replies. I know this is a very big event, everyone has worked very hard with their dogs to get here. I can certainly understand why it may not be a good thing to take a stranger along. I would be very disappointed if I distracted the dogs in any way. I still plan to show up and visit, if something works out - great, if not I'll still have an opportunity to see many very good dogs and learn from the experience.

I hope everyones dogs do well and all the hunters have a good time.

You should think about also going to a local club hunt thats handy. I'm sure you could hook up with someone there.

Just show up on Saturday afternoon, wander around and ask everyone, "how did you do last night"? You will hear plenty of "stories".

When i went to the zone held in decatur tn that time i was amazed. The biggest part of the dogs were just laying around resting. Only heard bout 10 out of all of them barking. more noise at a small local hunt lol. It was an expierence for me and i really enjoyed meeting people and hunting with some nice hounds. Hope to be a part of it again sometime. Good luck finding someone to go to the woods with sir.
