You don't have anything to loose by mixing 5cc of Clorox to 100 cc water and try to get 10cc down his throat every thirty minutes. more if he will take it. Keep on till improvement is seen . Maybe two days. It worked for me. Everybody will say go to the vet and I say that too. I had been to the vet and he didn't give me much hope. He gave me some antibiotics and some seasick pills but he couldn't hold those down. It might be Coccidiosis as well so try to get some Albon.

I have pulled 2 pups thru at home with out the vet...... here is what i did.....the best thing to give them is a people drug called "TAMA FLU" my buddies girlfriend works at a doctors office and was able to get me 5 tablets from a drug rep. every morning give one tama flu and one pepto bismal pill and force feed pedia-lite to them with a syringe several times a day. the pepto settles their stomach and the pedia-lite keeps them hydrated and the tama flu kills the virus. I had both pups starting back on canned dog food in about 3-4 days. the most important thing is to keep them hydrated weather they want to drink or not.

Once you get him/her over it make sure you bleach its entire kennel and dog house

any questions give me a call

How old are your puppies or puppy? Cause I have had dealings with the P word before and now have a 2 1/2 month puppy. I know the signs of the P word. I've lost several pups cause of it going to the vet and not going. Lyle said it right, try anything and wildeye i'll give that a try also. Correct me if i'm wrong but does the P word stay in ground for seven years or is that a wives tail? I say the P word cause I don't wanta jinx myself lol!!

The P word does stay in the ground. The best way to help neutralize the area where the pup has been is to put hydrated lime down and spray with bleach/water.

Keep lime gatorade in him. Parvo dehydrates them. Seperate pups if you have pups. Use syringe and force the gatorade down the throat. Good Luck.

I have heard that it takes seven years but i dont know weather its true or not. I heard about the tama flu from a customer who is a doctor and also consulted a vet before i did anything. All i can tell you is that it absolutely works.
the same vet also instructed me to bleach out my kennels

The gator aid trick works good too. But the pedia-lite is stronger and works better

In 2009 I lost the better part of 5 litters of foxhounds to Parvo.

We tried clorox, pepto, pedia lyte etc., etc, and still lost heavy numbers.

A few made it, and I have NO IDEA WHY !!

It seemed like the big healthy ones got it worse, I was able to keep a couple runty little things alive with the pedia lyte for several days, but their condition did not improve and lost them anyways.

Now a man does alot of thinking when your burying 25 + pups in a week .

We bleached and limed all houses, kennels and ground around them. Talked to several vets.

Most of the better vets told me to switch to a 5 way puppy shot. I listened!! I also buy the 10 dose vials of parvo vaccine and give pups 1 cc of this starting at 3 weeks. I know.. They say the mothers milk antibodies will override the vaccine, but since starting this regime, I have not lost a pup since that dreaded summer of "09" and I raise alot of pups.

Hope this helps someone down the road.

Yep Dose them with a Single Vaccine of Nupar (Mod. Live) at 4-1/2 - 5 weeks old !! Then two weeks later .. They will not get Parvo .. Never use 7 ways on pup Just way to much to Rock their Immune System ..

Yes!! Nupar! I could,nt remember the name but I keep that and 5 ways which are a parvo vaccine also on hand ALWAYS!!!

.

if the Clorox dose not work (which by the way i will keep in mind if needed ) i use a full standard size syringe full of red kerosene. squirt the hole syringe up its butt. ive seen it bring them back. it will also help with worms. this is no joke i thought it was when this old man told me, he showed me so i would be leave him.

Thanks bud and to all the other replies. I didn't start this thread but i'll consider everything thank. I've lost a whole litter of puppies, they were my first litter I would've raised. Won't lie about it but it broke my heart cause I was excited about having'em. Hope I don't have to worry about the (P) word again.
Thank again
