53 views and no opinions???
I've owned a lot of dogs in my lifetime. Some good ones and some not so good ones, and a few I would call great. Rat is one of the ladder. I won't sit here and feed you a bunch of BS or try to influence you in any way. There are lots of great studs out there. You asked for an opinion so here is mine. Rats #1 asset is his BRAIN. He knows how to find a coon when there thin. Gets in the thick and will get him treed. Bawl and sqwal on track. Chop on tree. Crosses good with just about any bloodline. And last but not least, not a mean hair on him. Your welcome to take a hunt with him or several of his pups alone or with company. Good luck with whatever stud you choose. You need to satisfy yourself first and foremost. Thanks for the intrest

Nice pedigree Jay.
I have hunted Dirty Rat many times when he was young. Very impressive. Hard going, good track dog and tree dog.
I hunted with him at walker days a couple years ago I agree with Tardawg Coondog.

Thanks for the compliments on Rat. A lot of you old timers know dogs of his caliber pass your way very few times in a lifetime. I turned him out at dusk last night in the yard. Came in the house and watched the news. Picked up the GPS and he was 800 yards behind the house treed on a big white oak den. He made 3 figure eights on the screen before treeing. How did we make it without the GPS in the early days?

quote:Bad thing about it ole Buddy I drove my ole Honda 4 wheeler straight to him. LOL. Ask David "Laser Torch" Morgan what the terrain is like around my house. A rattlesnake can bite you between the eyes climbing up some of these hills. LOL. But I will take these hills any day compared to what David hunts in. You can get to a treed dog faster crawling instead of walking down there in Southeast Texas. RUFF RUFF country.
