Lights ?

600 lumins compared to 50000 lux.....

Just want to know which is brighter. Thanks for any response!!

LUXs VS lumens is like horsepower VS torque in a motor. You need both. You can't compare LUX to Lumens. 50,000 LUXs is bright.

The lux (symbol: lx) is the SI unit of illuminance and luminous emittance, measuring luminous flux per unit area. It is used in photometry as a measure of the intensity, as perceived by the human eye, of light that hits or passes through a surface. It is analogous to the radiometric unit watts per square metre, but with the power at each wavelength weighted according to the luminosity function, a standardized model of human visual brightness perception. In English, "lux" is used in both singular and plural.[1]


The lumen (symbol: lm) is the SI derived unit of luminous flux, a measure of the total "amount" of visible light emitted by a source. Luminous flux differs from power (radiant flux) in that luminous flux measurements reflect the varying sensitivity of the human eye to different wavelengths of light, while radiant flux measurements indicate the total power of all light emitted, independent of the eye's ability to perceive it.

50000 lux is comparable to approximately 4600 lumens, and yes, they can be compared so long as you are relating it to lumens per sq foot. That is incredibly bright.

i am going to guess is short for proffeser ben

I just typed out this long response and decided it was too complicated. So the short answer is you can’t compare the two because they are two complete different measurements. One is total output "lumens" The Sunspot is 2200 lumens that’s the highest I know of in a coonhunting light. The other is a concentration of light "lux" the Sunfire is 50,000 that’s the highest I know of in a coonhunting light.

You can’t really tell a huge difference in the two in a 30 to 40 foot tall tree but when you’re looking into a 60 to 80 foot tall tree there is a huge difference.

The difference is with the high lumen you can get the high lux in a more usable size spot. So 956 lumens at 50K is a more usable light that 230 lumens at 50K lux. Now 4600 lumens at 50K lux that would be an incredible light.

kinda like to see some of these lights on a lux meter,,,
I know for a fact some of them are advertised as 40 000lx and really get about 17 000 lx

Dont know what you guys are talking about with Lux and Lumins. But I do know the SunFire at 50000 Lux is the best and brightest light Ive ever seen. I would like for someone to show me a light that is brighter and reach the top of the tall trees and Ill buy it. Dont think Ill be spending any money no time soon. I would tell anybody to try this light. You will love it. ITS BRIGHT.
