Can house dogs be good coon dogs?

What are your guys thoughts on keeping your coonhound inside as a house dog, but still taking him out and running him like any other dog?

Will keeping him or her inside mess with them in any way?

Two Dual Grands that grew up in the house rite now & 8 others that switch in & out because of the dreaded heat cycles. I've had more Dual Grands that grew up in the house in the last 30+ yrs among many many others. All coondogs.

Manners & handling increase' ten fold because of the personal constant time together. I can let 8 out at a time & not hav'ta hover around them to keep'um in check. Day or night with den tree's & coon 50 yards away. They do not take off unless I give them the ok.

Hounds, some, make as good or better housedawgs than alot of the others. Like any of the others, personality & brains play hand in hand.

Don't knock if'n ya ain't tried it!

Mine are all house dogs. One dual grand, one with two first place wins, one with a first place win, and one that has been in a hunt yet. Also run them on lion and bobcat all winter. Treat them good and they'll treat you good.

Are any of them fixed? Does spaying/neutering a dog affect their ability to hunt at all?
