still a classic coon hunt and still in the old south.

Batesville is just south of Sardis, MS. Sardis lake is FAMOUS.

Batesville, MS is just west of Tupelo, The Birthplace of Elvis Presley.

In between Tupelo and Batesville is a lil place called ponotoc, The home of one of THE most famous Walker men there EVER will be..Mr. Wiston "WIMP" Aaron.

Good move UKC....plus the grounds are foo foo show dog compatible....

We have reservations at Quality Inn I think. They allow dogs. Sad thing is people will reserve 10 rooms and only need 1. That keeps others from finding one and wont be able to get off work at the last minute when the rooms are released.

Sardis lake is about 10 minutes north and Enid lake is about 10 minutes south. Both offer a lot of camp sites.

There is nothing we can do about them moving the winter classic, I just wish if Mississippi wanted a big hunt they should have gotten their own. For the people that can't afford or aren't able to travel cause of personal problems, it's a taw deal.

like onedognight said

there are plenty of campgrounds within ten minutes of the civic center. they allow dogs they jus have to be tied or leashed.. all the campgrounds at sardis lake have nice restrooms and showers also

Posted by Christy on 07-18-2012 07:29 PM:

Oh Well. Guess we wont get to go to any more Winter Classics.

It is now a shorter drive for us to drive to Autumn Oaks than there.

I forgot about the cabins on Sardis John. The last time I rented one it was cheaper than a motel room.

Posted by J_HAVAS on 07-18-2012 07:37 PM:

cabins

the cabins at sardis lake are 80 a night on the weekend i think cheaper durin the week,, and there are brand new cabins between the lake and sardis on 315 i dont know how much that is

Always wanted to go to the Winter Classic. At least now it's only 1800 miles instead of 2200 miles like it was before. You guys that complain about having to drive further crack me up.

Well if UKC is going to start moving long established hunts around the country they should move all of them and just rotate them around the country.Like Autumn Oaks and the Grand American.

Yeah, Parsons TN had a hunt like that too...Had a 4x4 and the whole nine yards donated....it was also a PKC hunt.

The hunt lasted 1 year.

PKC doesn t cover the added purses at the major hunts, it is the club s responsability to come up with the added money.

If PKC does anything, I feel like they will move the Sunshine Jamboree to albany.
