Thanks.He is also one of the nicest hounds I have owned in 30 years of coon hunting.I have won a lot in the last 2 years with him in UKC and PKC.He is a very competitive dog he wants to be first even if it was just a foot race.Winning is important to him and he puts that in his pups.

How old are his oldest pups and what are they doing. I have an all-grand female off Zeb and ST.Nick female I am looking to breed. I heard Slam is a very nice dog

He was bred once when he was young and I don't know anything about those but the oldest I know about were born 11/2/11 .When we sold them they all started treeing a coon hide at around 6 weeks old the next litter was born 12/5/11 and they were the same way.We kept 2 out of the second litter and 2 out of the first litter and they are treeing on live coons(just released coons as we have not carried them to the woods at night yet) very well.They are very smart and easy to handle.They are also natural tree dogs.

My brother owns a littermate to your dog. It sounds like they are the same type of dog. I wonder if the wanting to first at everything came from Roy or Belle.

I have heard that Deep Woods Lumis which is Belle's sire threw some nice dogs.So I don't know where that desire came from,all I know is that is something you can't teach a dog it has to be bred in.That is one thing that we are beginning to see in his pups now that they are getting a little age on them.
Has your brother hunted his brother in any hunts?

Slams pups

I hunted with Slam when AJ Dovers had him,,, I had a male out of his first litter,, and AJ kept a male,,, my male was a tree dog but wouldnt hunt a lick!!! AJ's pup was starting to click at 8 months old but got killed!!! one of the others turned out good that im aware of!!!! Butch Webb owned it i beleive!!

just tryn to answer the question on his oldest pups!!!

I knew AJ ran over his and there was one that a guy use as a bear dog that loved him but he got killed by a bear.But that was the only ones that I knew about.

yeah i was hunting with AJ the night he ran over him!!! he would have made a good prospect!!! the one i had i called tebow,,, a guy in tennessee has him and says hes a good pleasure dog to take out and tree coons with!!!I think i have a picture of him treed i will email you if you would like to post it on this thread!!!

We made 2 drops lastnight with Slam he got deep and had the meat at both trees.

Well Mark we could have turned out as many times as you wanted last night and he would have done the same thing all night.That is what I like about him so much,by his self or with 10 dogs when I let him go he is going to get gone in a hurry and put a Ricky in a tree in the beaver swamp on a branch or in the river bottom with a feeder or without.
He is the kind of dog you are proud to have on the end of your leash anywhere any time you go hunting.
