I was reading the Bloodlines this morning and saw the Advisor for sale for $15. Maybe this has already been done if not it's a money maker. Have your computer GURU make a phone app that is searchable the same as the advisor.
You could even put a couple test in the back with the questions that cause the most headaches for you.

$5.95 for the app and I guarantee 100,000 people would buy it the first month!!

This would be the simplest app to make!!

cell policy would not affect reading a book? you can read it before/after the hunt or at home or while waiting for deadline. he didnt say to read it while on the hunt!

I am sure something could be printed in the ADVISOR that if it was used to solve an issue on a cast and under control of the judge it would be OK.
If you want to help with the confusion that is taking place on a lot of these hunts then moving into the 21st century may be the way to go!!

I guarantee if JiM had this app on his phone he could point out every question someone had is a very short period of time.

Well, I know Allen just ruled that you can't use that neat, new clock app they came out with for the hunts while time is in.

Bruce, I have always wondered about how many active coonhunters there are in the USA and Canada. And how many of them have smartphones? 100,00? I 'd be surprised if it was that high. I wonder if UKC or anyone else has every tried to figure out the number?

But I agree, Bruces app would sell enough to buy him a few good dogs and get him up there in the Valley Creek class.

OK bad idea. LOL NOT but heck it would cut message board questions in half.

JIM as far as dogs go VC has some good ones but not the only good ones.

I have one we finished to Gr Nt Saturday night and he never lost a UKC cast. He did have to win 6 Nt Ch cast cause he did not make the deadline on one of them but he still won the cast just didn't beat the clock. lol

Bruce, I been following your Big Show dog, he must be a goodun. I didn't even know he was hunting any UKC but I see him winning big in PKC.

As for the app, isn't that something you could build and sell yourself?

So we can't use the hunt timer? That's crazy!! If folks would worry more about what they are leading and not my phone. They'd be better off.

Yeah I was shocked when I read that in bloodlines this month. Mainly because it seems like at least seventy five percent of the casts I have been on in the past couple of years a cell phone has been used in some capacity or another as a time keeping device. Nobody has a wrist watch anymore and when nobody in the cast has a stop watch well you kind of have to make due with what you got. The way I understood the cell phone rule was that you most definately where not allowed to communicate with anybody regarding scores etc. but, that they could be used for reasonable situations that are approved by the judge. Why the new time keeping app. or the above mentioned fictional app. would not fall under those peremeters is beyond me. I obviously must be way off base on this one, since it was laid out pretty clear in this months bloodli es that this is not acceptable. I guess my opinion would be that if this really is going to be UKC's stance on using cell phones as a time keeping device then maybe they should clarify that phones can't be used in that capacity during the MOH's announcements before casts are called out. I would say that this rule is probably the most ignored rule their currently is, not because people are blatantly breaking rules but because nobody thought that using a cell phone for a clock was against the rules.
