Anyone use Sportmix Dog food???

I have been feeding the blue bag 26/18 of the Sportsmix for over a year now. And wanted to see what everyone else thought of the feed.

Fed it for a little while and no complaints. Good feed for the price. I just went back to Purina due to the weight circles and variety of feeds they have.

Too much cleanup for me. I'd estimate they produce 60% more stool on it than Diamond EA...
Dogs seem to do fine on it though.

I fed it, liked it but didnt like the clean up...seemed their stool stuck to the concrete and there was a little more than i liked. they stayed lookin good.

I swapped to Sportsmans Pride and there is less clean up, Im feeding less and there looking better...Plus, its loaded with Omega 3 and 6. If you like the sportsmix you ll love the Sportsmans Pride!

ive fed it for 5 yrs, never really noticed more stool than normal. like any other dog food the less you feed the less stool you'll have.

feed

I use to feed Purina One Lamb and Rice the dogs started picking the stuff that was suppose to look like meat out of the bowl and not eating it figured something changed in it not just one dog doing but 3 dogs switched to the chicken and they did the samething, switched to the Black and silver bag, dogs look better actually put weight on I hunt about 4 nights a week and I had to cut back on feeding to about a cup a day from 2 1/2 cups a day and they stayed the same. The stool is a little less but when you feed less you have have less to clean I have noticed that the stools are hard as concrete dont know if thats a good or bad thing though I will continue feeding it unless they start changing things like Purina did I gave about $60 purina bucks away.

I feed it to my dogs and like it really well. On diamond they had real loose stool and a lot more. Also their coats seem to look better on the sport mix.

I use the black bag and really like it. I was using the Pro Plan Performance, but got tired of always trying to find it around here. I have no complaints.

I feed the blue bag......didnt ever really see a difference in stool produced from it or the diamond E.A.. If I fed what both called for I only had one or two hard stools to scoop each day.............................60%........................................thats quite a study.....

FEED THE GREEN BAG FOR A LONG TIME IT WAS A GOOD DOG FOOD...THERE WAS A LITTLE MORE STOOL BUT SOLID....DONT KNOW WHAT THE DIGESTABILITY IS ON IT BUT WAS TOLD ONE TIME DIAMOND WAS 98%......

Posted by PRITCHARD on 07-04-2012 11:22 PM:

Guys thanks for all the response . Like I said I have been feeding the blue bag for over a year. And I have not found a better feed for the price. I pay $23.00 a bag for the blue. I clean up one stool a day in each kennel. And to me that pretty good!!

Lamb and Rice

Sport Mix Lamb and Rice . One of the best I have fed . I
wouldn't feed any of their others .

Posted by Jackson87 on 07-07-2012 04:33 PM:

I fed the blue bag for a year or more.It was ok.Dogs seemed to run out of gas when hunted 3 nights or more a week.I switched to Ultra Advantage which made them have plenty of energy for them late nights.Only fault i found in Ultra was one of my dogs was overheating when temps got up around 80.Since has switched to Diamond Natural and wont be lookin back.Dogs run alot cooler and are full of energy.Didnt know Sportmix had Lamb and Rice. How much is it?

Posted by ov_blues on 07-07-2012 07:43 PM:

I've tried a couple different times to find the Sportmix Lamb and Rice and get a price on it. Still working on it. Anyone know how much it is per bag and what size bag it comes in?

I have been using sportmix now for over an year no problems very little clean up. I tried Diamond feed but it made my hounds loose and messy then they keep having these recalls so I keep sportmix and purina pro plan for my pups. I see where most all feed bags now are 40# and some even down to 35#...

I have been feeding sportsmix for a year now. I really like it I feed the blue bag in the winter and the green in the summer. I have feed black gold for years but the price keeps going up. The sportsmix keeps the dog looking good. The only complaint I have I wish they would go to 50lb bags insted of 40lb.

I FEED SPORTMIX FEED

I FEED THE 26/18 AND REALLY LIKE IT MY ONLY PROBLEM WITH IT IS IT JUST KEEPS GOING UP IN PRICE. AFTER TAXES HERE IN ILL. I PAY A LITTLE OVER 27 DOLLARS A BAG.GOT TO FIND SOMETHING MORE REASONABLE.LIKE IT BETTER THAN BLACK GOLD OR HI STANDARD. MY DEALER SAYS HE IS GOING TO GET SOUTHERN STATES FOOD SO I GUESS I WILL TRY THAT.

If you get Spotmix at a big retail store like Tractor Supply, they will be 40lbs. Stores like mine or feed mills will still have 50lbs. The big retail stores carry the smaller bags because they are easier for some people to handle.

Been feeding the 24/20 for the past several months. Fed Diamond EA before and really liked it but....Sportmix was $11 a bag cheaper and it has been in a 50 lb bag with all I bought.
