Anybody ever saw this before?

Took him on a UKC hunt 6/15. Had him out the previous weekend with my buddy and his 2 dogs. He was fine til about Wednesday, 6/27, of this week. These spots have progressively gotten worse. I bathed him with mild soap on Thursday, but it hasnt helped. Anybody ever saw anything like this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It has a shelf life, that's why not many stock it.

my hound gets those once in awhile kind of thin haired, I put bag balm on them will clear up if not hunted about a week.

If it's hard and crusty.

If you pick one of them off is it red and pussy looking. To me it looks like a common dermitetic mange that most pups are born with. Some show up at a later age, some when young pups and some it never shows up! JMO and I've seen it several times over the years!

Not sure what it is, but if it's a skin condition Nu Stock can probably fix it. http://www.nustock.com/. I use it for a lot of things.

One of my dogs got into some ants. When the blisters popped, he had nasty sores all over him. I just gave him Betadine bathes everyday until it cleared up. When the sores were at the worst, they would get all nasty, crusty, dirty looking between bathes.
It took a couple months before it completely healed and the hair grew back.

Nu Stock is good stuff, it seems to clear up darn near any type of skin condition.

Had a dog here being bred last year that broke out in hives all over like that. The vet said it was a Staff infection and put her on antibiotics and special shampoo. That cleared her up. Don't know what caused it. The vet speculated she was allergic to something she hadn't encountered before in her home State.

I pulled some scabs off today before spraying him down with the Vetericyn. Pulled maybe three off before he whined and nudged my hand away. 2 had the pussy stuff on them when i pulled them off.
So ill keep with this for a few days to see if it helps...also changed his bedding.

I have some nu stock. Love the stuff...just never thought to try it. Hopefully this remedy works, then ill use the nu stock to regrow the hair.

If you guys have any other ideas shoot em my way. Hes obviously aggravated by the stuff so ill try anything to help him out. Thanks again.

be sure to get all the puss out and wipe them off with a clean cloth. if you use the spray 2-3x a day you will see improvement within 2-3 days.

I had to get all of the blisters off of Hot Dog before his started to heel as well...They were yucky under there.

After getting all of the blisters off it was sorta like treating a horse for rain-rot.

I know Hot Dogs was ants, because he was in them when I ran out to him. He was running around and yelping...I was picking them out of his coat...poor pup!

Hope you get yours cleared up soon.

What you are seeing is caused by a virus within the dogs system, its not something they catch they are born with it. It usually manifest itself during periods of HIGH stress, ie hard hunting, extreme heat etc. I've had it show up in a few of mine over the years. It looks terrible but didn't seem to affect mine in anyway, I just pull off the scabs and treat with a topical.

Use a penicillian product as a topical treatment and there will be new hair growing within a couple of days. I've used injectible pennicillian as an ointment as I usually have a bottle around. Sorry for the spelling error.
