60 Minutes of Coonhound Journalism????

What this sport needs is the 60 Minutes version of journalism. We need some independent, investigative journalism that will look into these rumors and accusations that get posted on these message boards and fill up the PM boxes and emails of so many people. There is a real need to sort through all this, find the TRUTH and get it to the coonhound world.

Most likely 90% of the accusations and rumors posted on here is garbage. But if they aren't, why not go and question the people involved and get to the bottom of it? If they won't talk, then publish that they refused to talk. If they do talk and they lie, then expose them for liars.

One of the things that keeps our government and our politicians honest is the fear the media will get ahold of it and they will be exposed. Multiple media outlets competing against each other keeps the media honest and functioning at a high level. We don't have that level of accountability in this sport.

Nearly all coonhound journalism is tied to a kennel club or a kennel club publication. No offense, but those are businesses trying to maximize their bottom line through registering more pups, licensing more events and collecting more fees. Creating a situation where a money paying customer gets exposed and stops sending money in is the LAST thing they want to do.

So, who is out there that has a journalism background, education, credentials and knows a little about coonhunting and is not afraid to ask big people, tough questions? I believe this is a real opportunity for the right person. It could be a money maker. There surely are honest businesses out there that would sponsor an effort to keep the sport relatively clean? Its a wide open opportunity, right now.

when did this start??? what about the media that spins everything in favor of their 'fav' prez or politician?

dont want to change the subject, but I highly doubt the fish tails that have been spun in coonhunting hold a candle to what the gov't and politicians do. Im pretty sure that is what got the country where it is now.

Honesty is a relative term. Find a country with more honest and transparent government and politicians than the USA. China? Iran? Pakistan? Russia? Venezuela? Good luck.

The media does serve a purpose and at least if its out there, you have a choice what to believe. If it never gets put out there, then you will never really know. At least you have a choice.

It sounds like you are trying to take all of the "fun" out of this message board. The message board is not like a newspaper. It is more like a comic book. Isn't it for entertainment purposes?
