Ukc needs Breeder of the years award

They may already have something like this but I think it would be neat to have a system where each breed would have top breeder of the year award. Not QUANITY but QUALITY ( PErcentages ). I know they have it where it shows certain females being in the top ten and such but it also takes brains from men and women to make the right selections. I also know breed hunts have these awards but I feel it would mean a lot more if ukc would have a race that lasted yearly on indiviuals and do it like the current list on the dogs, make it where they half to have at least 20 pups or something.

Yep, I think it would be a great idea. Maybe tie it into the PRP somehow.

2011 will make up the third year now where UKC has awarded several dogs and a breeder with such awards. The first two years we presented these awards at Breed Day Events. We decided to now start doing them on Saturday at Autumn Oaks, just prior to calling out casts.

The Awards we will be giving out are:

2011 Performance Coonhound of the Year

2011 Performance Sire of the Year

2011 Performance Dam of the Year

2011 Performance Breeder of the Year

The Oaks venue will allow us a little more time in giving due credit for each of the recipients.

ok

Sounds good Allen. How exactly to you pick them or grade the breeders. I'm just curious but was thinking A.O. would be the perfect spot for the announcements.

The winning breeder is the one whose nominated litters earned the most points in 2011.
