walmart just jacked

up the price of all their dog food $1 per bag ,saying it was cause of the trucks bringing in the feed raised prices cause of the high fuel prices,,,why didnt they do that back when fuel was $3 a gallon,,now they are gougeing us dog owners for an extra $1 per bag on all brands,,,bull crap,,walmart hasnt been paying fuel surcharge on any loads i hauled ,and where they get off thinking we cant see what they are doing..stealing from us now and lieing about what its for....

anybody know where to send emails to to complain to...what a rip off...

wife just called and told me this is what an employee told her, employee had 4 dogs and wasnt happy either..

I wouldn't pay $11.38 for the whole truckload of Ole Roy! Go to Tractor Supply and get some Pro Plan!

I FEED BLACKGOLD I WOULD'NT FEED OL'ROY IF THEY PAYED ME THE $12.00 A BAG JUST TO TAKE IT. I PAY $15.00 FOR A 50LB AND FEED ALOT LESS, AND CLEAN UP ALOT LESS.

Posted by synoviaus on 03-19-2006 02:06 AM:

My dogs won't eat anything but Black Gold. It's usually $15.oo for 50lbs. They seem to be doing good on it- glossy coats and energy to spare! We tried purina for a while, but had a puppy get rickets on puppy chow. I have seen dogs that eat Old Roy where the dogfood goes right through them. My sister ran an animal shelter and Walmart donated the torn bags. Man what a clean-up she had. Amy

What is Black Gold charging for their different formulas?

thats because when a vender goes in the sell a product they get put in front of a fireing squad and the vendor is told what they will sell their product for, how much they will bring and what time it will be delivered, or your out. I was told by our chip vendor that walmart is starting a new program. he wont get paid for his chips untill a costumer buys a bag, and it goes in the computer that he will get paid for that bag, stolen or damaged bags would have to come out his pocket. SCREW WALMART BUY FROM THE LITTLE GUY

Black Gold

The only problem I have with Black Gold is that some of the formulas have "meat meal" in the ingredients list. Some of them are a little high in the corn area, too.

But that new Signature series - no corn, no wheat, no soy, chicken based, 25% protein - looks promising. Anybody got any of that yet? Anybody know how much it's going for?

there's a dog food place in Joplin Mo that sells 90% of their food to Wal-mart(ol'roy)and they went on strike about 2 weeks ago.the place is called Doanes Pet Food,a bunch of the employees were at both Super centers in Joplin yesterday passing out flyers and picketing the sell of Ol'Roy dog food.i dont know if thats got anything to do with it or not,but i still would'nt feed it!!!!!!

Walmart is not the only one that has raised dog food prices. In the last year the local hardware store and local feed store where I get some of my feed have raised their prices by a $1 a bag. Two weeks ago the price of all Purina products at PetSmart was raised. Hi-Pro and Dog Chow went up $2 per 50# bag and Pro Plan and One went up $1 per 37.5# bag. The local hardware store and feed store blamed the increase on gas prices. PetSmart blamed the increase on Purina.

that could be what happened and they are blameing it on the truckers,,
i been feeding the new brand of oldroy with the meat in it and my dogs stay in good shape ,but then i only get to hunt on the weekends too,,,

anybody know where you can get the chatum (spelling?)brand dog food in ohio,,

used to feed it when joy went to the crapper and then the local supplyer quit selling it....i think it was as good or better than the original joy before they changed the formula.

I remember seeing a chattum dog food years ago but I would just as soon feed cracked corn to my dogs as waste my money on that stuff. I think you will be surprised with the result of some of the other premium feeds mentioned they may cost a little more per bag but you will feed less in the long run and have less to clean up.

Posted by redmanmi on 03-19-2006 07:15 PM:

i have been feeding pro plan but hopefully i will have switched to ultra i will still keep one or two on pro plan perf. for alittle while. if someone needs ultra in mich let me know im going to try to keep some extra around.

the chattum brand we were feeding back then, lol
the waste would dry up into white balls, ect and you could use a dust pan and wisk broom to clean up after them.the joy was the same way till they changed thr formula ,

the dealer said he couldnt afford the shipping increase on the chattun at the time so he quit selling it ..it came up from the carolalina's somewhere..???

they may have changed the formula on it since then ,but it was good while it lasted...

I'm originally from NC that's the same stuff. on the ingriedient list were chicken by product meal which is feathers beaks and feet high in protien but not the kind a dog can digest. next was corn meal again great for horses but not to good for dogs. the reson it dried up so well was becouse it was almost undigestable to dogs it was cheap but you had to feed a lot more for the same results of a quality feed. A lot of the deer hunters from back home fed the stuff and I would have been ashamed to claim some of their dogs.
