2006 Winter Classic

This will be my first winter classic handling a dog and I was wondering if I could get a few pointers from some of the veterans out there. Anything would be appreciated.

Posted by Outdoor Heaven on 12-27-2005 09:41 PM:

Joe will be there

With Tank for the first time at this event also...

Look him up, Outdoor Heaven Kennels. Joe will be in the back with his semi and trailor.

He hopes to see and meet alot of folks on the board.

Polly

If you do get there, look Joe up.

This way you can also see Tank.

I'm glad you got the paperwork for the breeding and Tank should be a NITECH with wins toward GRNITE with any luck...

He's been in MO. at a friend of ours, helping train his young hounds and he's going to hopfully get him finished for us. Joe will be picking him up to take him to Albany this next month.

Joe loves to talk and will really enjoy this hunt....

We are going to try, we had plans with another person but that other person decided not to go, so now we are looking for another that wants to split costs.. We are only taking one or two dogs down for the bench....
We are taking our Jack definitely so he can show for the Top 10 and grand champion class.. We were thinking about taking Punky too.. The little female I want to breed to Tank..
So, We will see if we can... I love to talk too!!! lol

If you draw out to ROBERTA save your time
and money and stay at Albany.

If you aren't going ot hunt any of your dogs if you get to go, why not be an observer if you want, and go with Joe and see Tank hunt?

It's just a thought if you get there.

Has not a couple of the over winners in the last couple of years come out of roberta.

Yes

Yes, i hunted out of Roberta the last two years and the winners have come out of there. Just be prepared to hear a local guy win with a big score when nothing else comes in. I got the first coon last year on a split and had it. the others were a circle. Don't you know didn't see any coon the rest of the night just a bunch of deep creeks and cutovers. Guide told us if he couldn't win no one else in the cast would either, after we finished our two hours. I won the cast with 225 plus.

Winter Classic

Gonna run over there for I know at least one day maybe both will look up Joe Ms Polly and take a gander at Tank.My Nephew is gonna be hunting a gyp he just NiteCH'd and his partner is hunting a NiteCH male they co-own. That 225 score sounds like about right for this part of the country amazes me still that at least two dogs scored that 1000+ last year--was way better than average.Sure hope we have better weather this year--Jim

1000+ Or more always comes back from somewhere. Its always a 1 dog cast most of the time. Some places around them parts are loaded with coon.If I could hunt alone for 2 hours.Put 10 or 12 feeder buckets out.NO TELLING what kind of score I'd bring back!

If I get to go, I will only be showing on the bench.. Will love to go as observer... I have been an observer several times on hunts..
I am hoping to get a ride down, to help save on gas....

Posted by Hiphop on 12-30-2005 12:44 AM:

Thanks for all of the posts, looks like it boils down to callin the dog for what he does. Could anybody let me in on the format a little more?
