Oklahoma Bluetickers Get Together Dec. 26-30

I received this email today from Austin Cox regarding a coon hunting and camping Bluetickers get together coming up the day after Christmas. We want to invite those of you who might be interested in coming down and having a good time with us to come on.

All we ask is leave bad attitudes and mean dogs behind.

Here is the content of the email:

John:

I am looking forward to you coming down. I think we will have a blast. Thought you might put a post on ukc board stating where we will be and who will be there. Might be some Oklahoma people may want to drop in. Here is a list of the people that has said they will try to make it. I will list the sure ones first then the questions second.

December 26 through December 30. James Collins Wildlife Management Area. (wma)
over 21,000 acres of rugged hill country hunting.

People that will be there. Larry Hamlin, Morgan Hamlin, Lee Ogden, Roger Bloxham, John Carroll, Gary Utchman, Johnny Smith, Steve Ledford, Troy Marino, Matt Davis, Austin Cox, and other local hunters.

Ones that have said they will try to make it. Troy Sheffield, Daniel Smith and Joe Allen

The list is groing daily you can put my phone # or e-mail for anyone wanting more info if you want.

I did inventory yesterday and would appreciate it if you and Gary could bring your own bed clothes and pillows. Also your hounds, lights and stories.

You may add that there will be plenty of BBQ

I wouldn't know why not.

I guess I ought to issue a disclaimer...

It is possible that some of the hunting stories the other guys tell might contain a few...stretched...places.

I, of course, will stick strictly to the truth. But I can't vouch for all the others.

Yes. We'll pair up and hunt.

We figure on hunting all night, and taking it in shifts so everyone gets to hunt with the dogs they want to.

Thanks, John. I am asking the Good Lord to give us nice weather those days. We ought to have a good time. We're going to eat good. have some good visiting, and hopefully tree a coon or two.

Are ya'll going to be staying at the WMA at the campsite or what??

Posted by Razor Ridge on 12-20-2005 03:26 PM:

Everyone and all Breeds Welcome!

Just come sober and ready for a good time.

I direct an Alternative School and Larry Hamlin is a Ag Teacher. We invite our students and several attend each year. Most of them will be along for their first coon hunt. This gives us an opportunity to show them what good clean fun is all about.

We do pair up to hunt, meet back at camp, swap stories and go again. Someone will be hunting around the clock. A few hunters bring mules and horses to hunt off of and some drive around and listen.

This is a zero pressure good time for all. There will be a hog on the smoker and plenty to eat.

Yes WMA campsite. Water, Outhouses, and a place to pitch a tent or park a trailer.

Extended Forecast shows high 50's to 60 degrees during day and lows in the high 30's. Very little cloud cover and moonlight.

Merry Christmas to all!
