puppies barking in kennel

I have three pups about 3 mons. old, they bark at anything moving around the kennel. I want to discipline them but I don't want to make them timid either, how can I control the barking and not hurt the pups in any way from being timid

Brad,

I have the same problem. I have two pups now at 3 months old. And they LOVE the sounds of their own voices. I started working with mine on day one (8 wks old). Sometimes a sturn tone works, and sometimes I have to spank their little butts. I wouldn't worry too much about making them timid, a little discipline has never effected my pups badly over the years. Good luck.

I agree with Brigman. Your pups should not get timid over a little discipline. I have scolded mine and never had that problem. I think timidness in breeding for the most part. I know dogs can get timid if you don't spend time with them when they are young but I think most of it is breeding. jmho
