Sterility Issues??

I have a male Bluetick that is 9yrs. old.He has proven that he was a dominant reproducer with limited amount of breeding.He quit getting pups when he was 5 1/2 yrs old.Does anyone have any suggestions as to a product that will help??I would love to get 1 pup out of the ole man.Thanks in advance for any help.

Darren, have you had him checked to see if he is completely sterile?? He may have a low sperm count. I have heard of people haveing it drawn, and somehow inseminating a female with the live sperm.

I think thats what they are doing with the Triple X Prowler dog.

You might call the MSU veterinary department and ask them.

what my Vet told me to do. Give him viamins C and E.. Also you must be sure he is free of any infections. Best thing is to have the Vet check him out for sperm count the vitamins will bring up a low count. My old male died before I could have him re-tested.

you a p.m., to many hypocrits on here at times to post this info. Is the hound in good shape, simple things such as being overweight can have a effect on sperm count.

Thanks for the advice.Someone reccomended the Redcell for horses.Is this what you are talking about?Thanks again for the info.I would really love one more out of ole Moonshine.

I would have to ask this why did he at 5 1/2 yrs go sterile? Was it due to a injury , or gentics? I have a Aminal Sience Degree, have owned cattle for more yrs than I can remember. Haveing had 100's of bulls tested while working at a bull test station, chances are if his sperm count is low it will all ways be low. We tested a bull from a long term pure bred breeder while working in TX, he paid $25,000 for him had him 2 yrs and bingo bull went sterile. low sperm count test and test him finally the guy made up his mind and sent him to hamburger. To me it sounds like more of gentics, but dont give up until you are ready. Have you had any reports of his offspring have any of this trouble, like sons, grandsons , ect? The females are usually the carryer of this gentic marker, and she will pass it own to her sons and not allways will it show up, but when it does bingo usually the good ones have it, the duds just keep produceing.

they make the red cell for dogs,,i gave the red cell for horse's to some preg. females yrs ago thinking it would help the pups ,,dont know if it was the redcell or what but the females aborted the pups ,,this happened to different females also,not just the same one..

buy the stuff for dogs,cost more but ,maybe safer..
