Alright this board is getting pretty boring.... theres gotta be some new news out and about. RIGHT??? Everybody I talk to have new pups... Wicked, Tbaker, Myself, Stephanie, ect... I know everybody has been out there chasing around a few ringtails, how have you been doing? Deer season starts tomorrow, theres some B.S. stories just waiting to be spoken about. Whats your plans for December?? Christmas cookies at BELLVUE?? I'll see what I can do as long as I can get there. Well I tried to get some news going, guess we'll see what happens. Happy Hunting!!!

Deer Season? Hmm, I got a couple nice spots that nobody but me is allowed to hunt on So I'll hunt right thru. All is well at Acorn Creek Kennels. But we won't talk about that poor showing the other night when RRbluehound and Country Mile came down. Just a baaad night. Oh well they are just coondogs.

Thats how it always seems to go, the hounds look good one night and then when somebody comes out to hunt they look a little worse then they did the night before. All well what can I say a dog is a dog. As long as you had fun thats all that matters, I guess. You have some pups at your place as well, don't you? If so how are they doing? Getting big I'm sure. -Angie-

We have some new pups too. It is the first litter we have had at the house in 4 years. They are 4 weeks old and the boys are having fun including the biggest boy of the bunch.lol

I'll try to put some pictures on here later. I will probably deer hunt a little and start running the dogs after the first week of deer season. I have to give the deer hunters some room as I hunt mostly state land.

I got thunder out on Saturday night for the first time, he is 3 1/2 months old. I just wanted to get him out in the dark. When the older dogs opened he wanted to run to them he went out a few yards and came back. A decent start.

NEW PUPS

Your Right Angie we got new pups We went out hunting also Tracey .....On Saturday Night ACE is going to be a big coonhunter when he gets it all figured out he loves the Dark and kept being nosey as this was his first time out in the dark also . He kept winding also as we was walking up the area to cut loose I turned Jude loose and She went out to get herself a Tree I turned Ace loose shortly after just for the heck of it He impressed me lol . HE LEFT ME AND WENT INTO THE WOODS AND YIPPED LOL Think he stubbed his nose !!lol He then kept on going and was in there a while Then Jude was having herself a hard time due to the wind my Lord IT WAS WINDY !!! Got in there and she was in the Tree about had me a big fit trying to get her out !!! my ju ju lol ~! Ace as we walked in stayed right ahead listening attentively and When he was withen site he Ran into the tree and started checking the situation out !! He is such a pleasure to see go out and not be afraid of his own Shadow. . !! Heres a couple of pics ill share of my Baby . The BIG MOUTH HE IS LET ME TELL YA !!

We are both glad you are happy, I think we'll find that Cole and Breeze is a good cross. I have already talked to John about one more breeding, since so many people were interested in the first litter. This will be Breeze's last litter I think, she is 5 now and this will be her 4th litter. She deserves nothing more than to hunt and enjoy her "golden" years

These pictures are of two 4 week old puppies and a couple of my boys. The boys sure have been having fun playing with these pups. I have been trying to get them to pick one, but they don't want to pick one.

Hey everyone-

Been real busy at the new job!! They actually make me work here. Wicked-New pup in the spring, been helping the future son-in-law with his pup.
Angie- COOKIES I'll be at Bellivue and at Lapeer and I'm Hungry

So how is everyone? Who all is going to Bellivue or Lapeer??

Ol'Barney is really filling out now, took him to the vet for his checkup and he is 72lbs and all muscle. No swimming for the winter so he will probably loose some muscle but we will work him in the spring.

Isn't it great! Coonhunting has been fantastic - it appears everyone on here has been busy, hopefully putting those dogs in the woods. I know I have been spending most nights out- for all of you competition hunters, I hope to have my female "Redneck Girl" ready for the hunts this spring. She is doing really well now, getting them in the woods this time of year does wonders, you know for sure if a young dog has the meat, or pulls up short. Lets you take a little "corrective action" if need be. I've been lucky, she has been pretty acurate.
How has every one been doing on your coon prices? I had to empty the freezer, so sold to Groenwald Furs out of Ill. The run a route up here 3 times per year. They are giveing top price of $21.
I averaged just under $8 per hide. Down from last years average, but not as bad as I had heard. Local buyers seem to be real leary on giving a good price, as the market has been soft. Lets hear what others are getting, who are you selling them too?

Shhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! That is enough of that talk!!!!!!!!!! All I can say is it is a good thing the boys don't see this post. Jayson is already getting quite attached to the blanketback male. It isn't going to be pretty when he goes. He already informed me that he has to be close to us so he can go and visit him.lol

Actually, this is my worse year ever for getting out. Family and work have been taking most of my time. I really wanted to get out last night, but it was a Boy Scout night. I usually do more hunting in December than I do November anyway. I have only shot two coons and gave them away.

Winter Weather

OK everybody - hope ya got out last night. I went out for a short while and treed a couple. As of this morning, its snowing here in Van Buren County. Weatherman says it will dump on us through the weekend. Looks like coon will be laying up for a few days. Thats ok though - time to spend time with the family - eat alot and get fat! Maybe we can get back out Saturday!!!!!

Heres wishing everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

are doing just fine and dandy. The pups are great Steph has the litter mate sister to my male KJ. Wicked if I get some pictures and email them to you would post them for me? It would be greatly appreciated. We hunt on the weekends but thats about it because of school. Dad and my brother I adopted Tony... have been killing a few every night. As for fur prices we are only averaging about $6.00 and tops is about $10.00 that is to some guy who comes to Jay's sporting goods about twice a year, his next vistit is December 7 I think. Lapeer and Bellvue we should be there... I hope. As for the cookies we'll have to see maybe some CHRISTMAS SUGAR COOKIES!!! We'll our class is having a thanksgiving party so I'll try and check back during our days off. Enjoy your days off and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! -Angela Sawvel-

One thing about kids and puppies is they really do go together. Of course that includes the biggest kids of all ...

Howdy J.T.,

The pups are out of my old male and a young female I have here at the house. We didn't send out a notice this year for the buddy hunt. I think time got the best of everyone. The buddy hunt was on November 5th. That was the night that high winds and thunderstorms rolled through midMichigan. Everyone except me and my boys ended up getting soaked to the bone and more. We just happened to be heading back to the truck when the weather hit. I apologize for you not getting the info.

Our first hunt is in February, I believe. We'll try to send out a newsletter just after the first of the year with all the dates on it.

Hey everyone-

Had to take Ol'Barney to the vet today, He has been coughing and got me worried

He has Pnumonia(SP)- The vet put him on some strong Antibiotics. I was scared it was Heartworms or Kennel Cough.

Looks like he will be layed up for a few weeks.
BUT- got me a nice 1-yr old english female thats out of the same bloodlines as my brothers GRNT english. What a tree dog.
Thanks to Mr. Nicely, he gave her to me and she is running and treeing good. If she turns out like chris's dog she will be a nice one.

well, see everyone at the Lapeer show SUN Dec-4 and at the State meeting Dec-11 in Langsburg.
