pedigree research

Hello.

I sent in my request for special consideration, my single registration, my photo's, and what I have of my pedigree which is two complete generations and then 'another registry' (top side) and 'foundation stock' (bottom side). I recieved a nice letter from U.K.C stating that my registration application has been placed on hold, but that they will be happy to register my dog when I have the completed 3 generation pedigree. Now, I guess some info on how to go about getting the names of the dogs would be a big help. I have the AKC registration # of the sire of my dog. I have contacted the original owners of that dog and they haven't yet responded. I sent them a copy of the letter that I recieved from you and what I needed. I have talked to my breeder, and he has no more info than I have, so I called the folks who he got his female from and they are trying to come up with the names of the breeders that they dealt with. Lot's of run around so far. Any suggestions? I am wondering if there is a less time consuming way of doing this. I have been at this since before August. Whatever help that you could offer would be welcome.

Thanks,
pmoultray

For the information on the sire, I suggest you contact AKC and get his pedigree. I believe you can order a pedigree from their website.

Perhaps you could ask the owner of the dam where she is registered, and contact that registry for her pedigree information.

HTH!

Thanks for the quick response!!

I will contact AKC and see what they can tell me. I think that that will be the simple part. I have contacted the registry that the dam is registered with and they were not much assistance. I will keep at it. Is there a time limit as to how long UKC will hold my application?

Thanks agian,

Pam

Pam,

You can order a pedigree on line for $8 from AKC. I'm not sure how to help you on the dam's side. If you simply cannot get it, tell us and our Committee will make a decision on that basis.

As to time length, there is none.

Good luck!
