so what do you do to keep them out of their house? do you use frontline? can you use frontline on a nursing mama?
Adams flea and tick mist
Adams comes in a blue bottle. It is safe for puppies and the mother. Works great.. I always use it when I raise pups.

i would clean it out real good and sray the area outside the area with a good flea spray i wouldn't use frontline or anything that the mother or pups can make direct contact with consult your vet before using anything remember what ever you give or put on the mother the puppies ingest while nursing
and it's very important to rid those puppies of fleas as soon as possible as fleas carry disease and transmit worms to them

the fastest
thing I ever saw to get fleas off dogs was WD-40.
had a bad case of fleas one year , sprayed the dogs and the fleas started jumping off RIGHT NOW !
sprayed the dog houses and that was the end of my flea problem.
for the puppies , i'd spray some in my hands and rub it on them. never tried it on pups but it didn't hurt my old dogs. ( i read about it in the Full Cry magazine , came from Emit Brohard )
Cristen
I know a guy who keeps those cattle ear tags on his dogs collars. He says he does it because they repell fleas. And his hounds are flea free! Maybe you could get some of them and put in the welping box.
pups
put seven dust on them momma and in their bedding i use it all the time it wont hurt them and the fleas will leave i sprinkle it all over in my kennels and havent ever had a problem just lightly put it on the pups rub them down do momma same way then mix it in their box they will be gone in a few days

Frontline Spray is safe for puppies and nursing moms, HOWEVER here in the US they only allow testing on puppies over a certain age so we couldn't get the same lable as they have overseas.
But Frontline is cleared safe to use on puppies or kittens 3 days and older as it is sold in the United Kingdon.
At the hospital we would take the puppies or kittens and spray them with 1-2 squirts and wrap them in a hand towel for a minute and let the fleas get the stuff on them and then put them back with momma, it will keep the flease off for a few weeks until they get bigger and then you put more on its one pump per pound, and rub in and it last for a month. Don't spray moma's titties or it will be bitter for the puppies to nurse off.
The Humane society and pounds all use frontline on the new puppies coming in as it is very safe
But get the fleas off as I have seen puppies die from flea anemia at htis young of a age as a flea can drink a few drops of blood and the puppies don't have much to start with
been there
dawn dish soap lather them up and rinse them off---make sure to use warm water and dry them good.

also, mixing garlic in the mothers food. The moist garlic w/ juice that comes in a jar is what I'm talking about. 1-2 Tbs each feeding. The garlic will get in the bloodstream and the mother's milk and into the pups. Have tried this before and it does help.
Hey,
We always use Adams WATER based flea and tick spray. Spray a towel or a wash rag with it until it is wet , not dripping wet mind you, and wrap the pup in the towel with the head sticking out and hold it that way for a few minutes, then dab a little on the top of the head, if you have a litter of pups usually by the time you get finished doing that you can start over with the first one and use a flea comb to get the stunned and dead fleas off of the little guys. Move them out of that environment or else you will have to do this every other day or so, those sprays have very little residual effect and mama is going to clean them up to and you don't want to make her sick.
get rid of fleas on puppy's
Dial antibatiral soap the orange one don't get it in mouth or eyes

I was told by a vet NOT to use garlic for dogs by a vet. He said it weakens the immune system in dogs opening up all kinds of problems in dogs.
Dawn dish soap.
