hello mr. redtick and all other english hunters

on a previous post the question was asked of me what was my friends redtick's mothers name. this was because of this hound beeing so ILL.

Well the SIRE: MICH. SWAMPROOSTER

and the dam : LAYEM UP CRICKET

THE HOUNDS d.o.b. :1998

will you hunters please help with this info my friend really want to know WHY?

AND WHO ELSE HAS THIS CROSS ?
AND WAS THEIR HOUNDS JUST AS ILL?

So what is the point of your mission, I understand that someone asked about the females side? Their point was that Rooster was bred to over three thousand females so no doubt you will get many traits from the females side also. Meaness can be inherited, learned, lack of discipline, or result of sickness or medicine. There are some mean dogs in EVERY breed, nobody strives to raise or breed a mean dog it happens and hopefully breeders have good sense not to breed that trait into future generations if they know about it. I just don't think it helps anyone to post this stuff publicly, instead email to those that ask for this information. I know you meant well but think of the guys that bred or own dogs from this cross that don't have this trait, you are labeling them all. Good luck!

hello hunters

to all hunters that hunt, breed, train, or care for redticks/engilish hounds i never ment to bring any harm,shame, or speak bad of your breed or of this particular bloodline,strand of hound.
it was just the question came to me after i posted that my friend had a ill hound off of swamprooster, some other hunters informed me that a certian female was putting out some ill hounds they aksed me to find out the f/males name so i called my partner and asked what was the f/males name. he in returned asked me to find out did anyone else have this problem from the same cross.
truly not intened to ofend any one. because this guy truly loved "trouble" and still care for him.
so if any harm was done please 4 give me.

however why is it that when one starts to uncover something that needs to brought to the light he/she is cut down just for asking.
you would think that all you hunters that has one of these hounds out of this cross would want 2 know.
if for no other reason just to better the breed. or to keep someone from buying a pup off of this cross. because if my partner would have had this info on this cross he may have not brought this pup. like the post above me stated thier is bad ,ill hounds in every cross.

i still need info if someone has it.
i'll also get mother's pedigree for background.

I understand what you were trying to do.

You mentioned your buddy might sell Trouble, I believe a Jonathan Warrington over on the Prohound site is wanting to buy a male dog that is rough on the tree, me mentioned to hunt on his own property. I gave him your email that you supplied.

please don't tell me he is wanting a nasty dog for PKC hunts? Dang, no wonder I don't hunt them hunts.

Charles, do not feel bad in anyway about your post, it was very good & very well thought up. I am not afraid to tell the good & bad on my dogs, pewriod. Any GOOD breeder has to be honest. If you keep brushing everything under the rug, eventually someone is going to trip over it & let loose all the dirt hidden there.

I still love my dogs & the English breed in general & will continue to do so for all the rest of my hunting life.

No Jonathan doesn't want to purchase this dog for hunts, you didn't read my post or his. He wants it to hunt his own land and keep others from hunting it, or so he said on Prohound site.

Also broadcasting about a mean dog out of such and such a male doesn't imply that if you don't tell the world it isn't sweeping it under the rug. Even Redtick stated he never saw an ill dog out of Rooster, wow, and he doesn't like the Rooster dogs, doesn't think they are gritty enough. Well I have seen Rooster dogs that were gritty and a couple that were touchy around a tree, but I have seen many breeds this way. Just thought it fair to deal with those interested off line. English Babe, I'll defend you against hootie till the cows come home, but don't think PKC has any meaner dogs than UKC, alot of the same people hunt both we do and don't see any meaner dogs in UKC as in PKC, a mean dog is mean no matter what registry he's hunted in. Just as there's mean dogs in all breeds, and all bloodlines.

I know there are mean dogs in every breed, registry, etc. Just struck me being funny that he said PKC & mean in the same sentence, is all. I did go read Jonathon's post on the PKC board & Doug is right, he wants it to hunt on home property & states he doesn't want it to hunt hunts. So I guess I owe an apology.

Ray, no one needs your protection from me unless they are some type of cheat or thief. English Babe doesn't fall in either catagory. She should take my advise on the article about puppy socialization I told her about on another thread.
Again, I have never seen a ill Rooster dog but the ones I had here were very hyper and rattlebarked for no reason all of the time. Frances Gail said if I ever brought another Rooster bred dog home, she was going back to Georgia. "Not before supper", I said hopefull of getting something good to eat.
The Swamp Rooster dogs didn't work for us but if someone admires them, so what? As I mentioned earlier, check out the bottom side. There are some lines of English I know produce a good number of rough dogs but I won't mention any names, I have enough Rooster folks against me already.

Dave, I won't be protecting any dog thieves or cheats! You need to relax a little and quit getting hostile all the time. You would get along fine with everyone if you'd quit pushing your wares on the forums and use the classifieds as your advertising post.

Redtick,this rooster bred pup I have here is not hyper in the least(in fact one of the more settled pups I've had)He doesnt rattle off on the chain for no reason if hes barkin its either house cats ,tree rats or when I come home from work.Maybe Rooster wasnt the problem with the ones you had maybe it was the females.

the littermates to Drive are mostly quiet too. Zam is much quieter then Jag tho. Jag barks at the cat, the chickens & at the Walker next to him. Zam only carries on at amish buggies. Worse dog I ever had for barking was those 2 Oney bred gyps, & a Rooster female that was here over winter last yr. which, if she would have been mine, I would of killed & not thought twice about it. The worse dog we have at the moment is the Walker male, he yap, yap, yap at everything, for no good reason. I HATE THAT DOG! A dog that barks to much at this place, either learns to shut up real fast, or wheres the shock collar all the time. Or heads down the road. Autumn never barks at a thing, period, she is the quietest dog we have. I think alot of the barking problems comes from a dog wanting attention & figuring out they can get it, if they bark. All the dogs we have here that was raised from a pup, are mostly quiet & very well behaved. That Walker male we have, hubby got as a yr. old & he was well set in his ways by then. He is to dang smart for his own good. He can escape any kennel, knows when you looking out the window at him or not & knows if he has the 'real' collar on or the dummy. Give me my good ole Rooster bred gyp or pup anyday over that hyper idiot!
