advice on vaccinations

I have a 8 month old pup that has had a 7 in 1 vaccination. When should I give this dog another 7 in 1 or should i give her another one. I know every 3 years is recommended on rabies. Any help will be appreciated.

once a year

be sure that your vet recognizes the fact that you give your own shots. mine didnt and I had to get them again when she went to be boarded.

New protocols

New vaccination protocols call for vaccinations every three years now. All 27 major vet colleges have gone to this now.

There are some lines of thought that after the initial puppy shot and then the booster at a later time, a dog should be safe for the rest of his life. I give mine boosters because I can buy the vaccine reasonably, but I think some vets want to give more shots than may be needed for the profit in it. The way I see it, the antibodies should last for a lifetime. But, it is better to be safe than sorry.

The new way of thinking is that the vets should be telling people that vaccines are suggested every three years but that would mean that they would lose money, so they keep it at once a year, Also the idea of giving vaccines once a year has no historical backing, it was a made up thing with no studies done to prove otherwise, I will get the link from my Homeopath and print it for all to read. this quote is in a veteriary journal and from a vet.

Also there are quite a few side effects from over vaccinating that are starting to be studied such as cancer and seizures, anemia, behavior issues related to the Rabies vaccine where a dog that is nice turns mean. I do not vaccinate any of my dogs anymore, after learning of all the dangers out there. Also if you do vaccinated just give the basics, parvo and Distemper, it is not good to give the all in one cocktails or 7-way shots, this hits the dogs systemd with too many things at once;.Ans the thinking is now if you even vaccinate puppies not to do it until at least 16 weeks old as you interfier with the mothers anitbodies.

Also the Rabies shot is a 3 year vaccine that is most often given yet each state decides whether to accept if for 1, 2 or 3 years, same vaccine different laws, and there is a huge debate on that vaccine,

My dogs get no vaccines, no heartworm prevn, and eat a raw meat diet.

Well I think

I'm going to continue giving my pups vaccine at 6,9, 12 and 15 weeks and their rabies once a year, After then, I'll think about what they need on vaccines. I'm going to continue with heartworm prevention once a month and worming twice a year as I've been doing.

No, I do not give my mature dogs vaccine every year. I have never had any problems because I do not. I do vaccinate the females I intend to raise pups out of to be sure they have antibodies to protect the pups.
There are some vaccines that were designed to overide the maternal antibodies to some extent and I believe they do. That is why I always purchase top of the line vaccine.
