Wanting to buy one and really don't want to buy one that will be out dated this fall or so on, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Abe

the 320's work a lot better if you use rechargable batteries. Dollar General has Rechargable Energizers with charger for 10 bucks and each pair of batteries for 5 Bucks. With alkaline setting on the 320, the low battery alarms go off when the batteries are at 40% and the alarms disable. It does go through batteries a little faster, but it is running a bigger engine. The link up to the satellites on the 320 is instant and the 220 takes as long as a minute to link up.

I think the 320 also has a gyro type compass in it so you don't have to hold it exactly flat to pick up the location

What I noticed with the 220, is that if you adjust the battery setting to Lihm (Lithium) even if you aren't using lithium batteries, and set the transmit time to 5 seconds, the battery life is much longer than regularly. I use the Energizer Lithium batteries, and i have run the same set for three days, and half the nights, straight. If I found something better I would use it but haven't yet.
