Had one snake bit last Thursday night. Benadryl and Penicillin. Benadryl twice a day, beginning in the woods when you notice the bite. Penicillin as soon as you get home. Also, Granulex spray for the bite wound and horse linament for soreness. She was bit on the inside of her back leg. She was back at it 6 nights later. I had one bit on the front foot two years ago, and she hunted 2 nights later.
Old timers say if they live an hour, they will be okay if you fight the infection (penicillin) and the swelling (benadryl).
Also, any dog bit in the front half of the body needs the collar removed to prevent choking.

Buy 100% turpentine, it will draw the venom out and relieve the swelling. This is an old remedy my granfather used while logging. Works on bee stings as well. I am allergic to bee stings and do not even swell one bit. You just put it in a small bottle and put it over the bite or sting, you can see the venom drawing into the bottle.

I use the adult dosage on the benadryl box. I buy the penicillin at the local farm supply and give the recommended dose (1 cc per 100 lbs). The Granulex is from the vet, or the last bottle I bought online.
