Copperheads Aplenty

Went to a hunt last night at Winona Mo. The guide took us to some big Government timber. As we were driving in I noticed 3 laying in the middle of the road.By the end of the hunt we had seen 5 copperheads. All of em about 3 ft long.Ain't no tellin' how many we walked past or the dogs ran by.I noticed our lights were shining on the ground most of the night.Something about big tracts of timber and copperheads.lol

Ive killed and seen more snakes in a

shorter period of time this year and earlier by far. I have doubled what I killed all of last year already since march 1st. so thats two months vs 12 last year.
something is up. Yall tell me. Yall seeing the same increase? if so, where and what's your opinion.

I would guess a lot more of last year's babies survived the mild winter and are thriving due to the early spring I am sure they have plenty to eat because with the mild weather mice, and rats are prob. doing very well too . jmo

Are Muck boots with heavy duty chaps adequate protection for your feet and legs? Do the different snake species have different levels of bite power?

Posted by Chris McCrary on 05-02-2012 04:32 PM:

I have the Woody Armour Boots that are snake proof from Muck. They are a little stiffer, but being in a part of Ga where copperheads, rattlesnakes, and cotton mouths thrive in Ill deal with it.
