What are you useing in your feeders?

Since is getting higher and higher and harder to come by. What are people useing instead? As well as the cost? I dont want this to turn into a feeder bashing thread. Just wanting some info and options.

I get free dog food. It works great. The hard part is to start getting them to come in. Once they start, its hard to keep the bucket with feed.

PROBABLY A SIMPLE ANSWER

LOL BUT HOW IN THE WORLD YOU BEAR PROOF A TIRE FEEDER? SORRY FOR THE INEXPERIENCE ON TIRE FEEDERS

General Dollar has 13lbs bags of dog feed that I use, works great also. It just about feels up a 5 gal bucket. At first I mixed coolaid to attract them and thats all it took. The bag of feed ain't $5.

I just started a tire feeded w/ sour corn and Kool Aid. Haven't seen much action/ I may try to move it to a different location.

We go to the local bread store and get day old bread and fill our bucket feeders up. That seems to work well.

I have never found anything better, cheaper or easier to use than the all stock sweet feed in pellet form. It is around $9.00 per 50lb.
I put it in bucket feeders or PVC pipe feeders hung in trees( I leave the buckets on the ground).
I haven't had any feeders out in a long time becouse my dogs are way past that stage. Been thinking about putting 1-2 out for my pup though. It is about time to start him now.
Just the smell of that sweet feed hung in a tree will bring them from a long way and you can throw a hand full in the creek to get the ones down streem comeing that way too.

They will eat dry corn but don't mix it with dogfeed in the same bucket. They will scratch out all the corn getting to the feed.

Cheap Dog Food ($12 a 50), mixed with Dry molassess or brown sugar.

Sour Corn (Corn's $8 a 50) with kool-aide or marshmellows.

I tried something new today will see how it goes: mixed with some food I found while cleaning the kitchen. (Bread, Cereal, Fruit, Corn bread, pretzels, marshmellows).

If I was in south Georgia near a P Nut processer I know what I'd be feeding. Those sweepings are the best yet.
