Adjusting to LED lights

Just got a new LED light and I cant see. Tripping, walking into things, can't see coon. How long does it take to adjust to these lights?

HA HA I HAVE COON HUNTED 30 YRS WHEN I WAS A KID MY OLDER BROTHER WOULD BEAT ME IF I TURNED A LIGHT ON JUST SO I COULD SEE TO WALK, WE HAD DD BATTERIES AND YOU DIDNT WASTE THEM ,

I USE A LED LIGHT AND I LOVE MINE I CAN FIND COON BETTER I THINK THAN I COULD WITH THE 5100 HEAD ---OR I HAVE JUST BECOME A BETTER SPORTSMAN ?? I LIKE MY LED

I bought an expensive one and had it for 2 nights. After I starred at a coon at the top of a big oak tree for 5 minutes wondering if it was the coon I decided it wasn't for me. Also I have been in several casts and a guy will have one and stare right at the coon and just completly overlook it. The good Lord blessed me with great eyesight,(i'm lucky because my moms is horrible) if I see any part of a coon in a tree I will knock a coon right out. LED heads I can't even begin to see the color of the fur against the white blue bark.

As far as durability and burn time, you can't beat them. Some love them, some hate them.

i have boss light

it took me a while to adjust.to me everything blends together color wise.looks blue/gray.hard to see white/blk. colors of coon.

most of the time i turn light off and look for ball in tree then turn light on{when leaves are off}leaves are on i turn it way down,use colored lens and look for eyes.

for as lasting.can go all week and not charge it.never had it go dead or dim.

So wouldn't you say seeing fur in a big leafy tree is next to impossible if it's high up?

When the lights lose charge do they go dead immediately or do they get dimmer like the others?

They dim down light anyother light, they dont go dead immediately. Mine lasts a long time even as its dimming down. Throw an amber pop cover on it and you'll have better luck finding coon as I think it helps the contrast and I've good luck with coon looking at the amber lens. Another great thing about amber lens is in the summer it keeps the bugs away! for some reason theyre not attracted to my light when i have the pop cover on. I use bright eyes terminator with white lightning head. Had it two years no problems been completely submerged under water in the winter (went swimming for my dog) still works great!

They are way better for making eyes glow from a long ways off and last a long time ... but if the color bothers you or you hunt tall trees where you gotta find coon by seeing fur instead of eyes ... they aint ever gonna suit you .

The trick is getting one that has a broad beem. Those ones that has a tight beem are better for feeding dogs and such. A good bright one with a broad beem will shine threw the leaves better than the old lights. The coon will look at the LED's a fast as any too if you want to turn them down or put a collor pop cover on.

When your dogs on a big oak in the finals of the world hunt and you can't see it but I can with my 5100 head don't be mad when I don'y show it to you

I took my old Cajun with 5100 head to the woods just to compare as I have been using LED for about 3 years now and I dont know how I ever found my boots with out an LED.

At first it'll seem like everything is the same color. It took me a week or so to adjust but When you get used to it you'll love it.. I didnt have any problem finding my coon at the world finals this last year. I just didnt get under enough of them..

I hear ya. I would say I find about 50% of my coon in the summer with my spotlight.

way brighter,

than any older coventional bulb.i wouldn't switch back.
can get more light to the top of trees.
leaves on use colored lens,they look.
easier on the batteries,last 10x's longer and no heat generated,no blowing bulbs.

About the lite

There's nothing wrong with the light. He was in his truck when he drove off a bluff and just about did me in, those where his light in his pickup. We did not have a circle or slick tree since he's been wearing that lite. He just got to whine about something.

I have yet to see a led head that made me wanna spend the money on one...and i would buy one if i seen they were better...

My hand held spotlight throws a tight bright spot where i want it...hit it on low with my 5100 then run my spotlight..

Everyone got their own likes and dislikes...i dont ever feel like i need anything brighter but if i seen something that was better i would likely buy it...

Never havveing to worry about running out of burn time is enough to make me use them. Then you have that thing of the dogs barking, slip it on your head and you can walk out the back door with a bright light AND a gun ready to shoot.

Led's are handy as a pocket on a shirt , but I don't like um' much either. Bland colors , and hard to see hair or body of coons up high in trees. I know some will argue with that , but this is my experiance with them.

But they hold charge , are light weight and handy , so i usually reach for mine when I go hunting now days.

That's some world class sportsmanship there.if my dog get beat that's it he's just beat. I ain't gonna help him win by dragging someone else's dog. Way to be that world class sportsman.
