A little help please

so i have a dog that is about 17 months old and she is doing real good she will hunt and tree real live raccoon's by her self all night long shes been doing this by her self since she was 8 months. The guy i bought her from started her off with his GATOR black and tan. And that b&t tore her butt up on the tree and you can tell. Well i have singled her out for the past 4 months and here recently i have been hunting her with other dogs to gauge her up cause im wanting to comp hunt her. Well she is getting first strike first tree against alot of the dogs but she wont stay treed almost like shes scared to tree with other dogs she will start to tree but when the other dogs get to the tree she is on they jack it from her and she just backs off and stops treeing till shes leashed back. So i know she has been bullied on the tree but is there anything i can do to help her get past this stage in her young life. Or will it come with age. Shes a great pleasure hound but i was wanting to comp hunt her

not saying she hasnt been bullied on the tree but her quiting treeing when another dog gets there does not mean that all the time.... i have seen lots of dogs that were just a little timid on the tree with others.... some got over it just fine and some will never tree right if there is any jacking or blowing or anything going on.... some will pic up the habit of pitching a tree near by.... if shes staying and just not treeing i doubt its she has been jumped on bad.... just sounds a little timid to me.... something to try that has worked on some is hunt her with one dog and it needs to be a clean treedog... when they tree and she quits put her on a leash leave the other dog loose treeing.... lead her up to it and try to get her to tree and see the other dog want bother her... usually after a couple times they get over it doing this

Patches she isnt staying under the canopy of the tree shes usually anywhere from 20-50 yards going back and fourth to where the tree is. I witnessed it last night . i saw the coon before the dogs came in on it and forced it up the tree i was trying to turn it before it got in a area i didnt wanna go in so i watched it go up the tree and she came in threw her locate and rolled in on it and started treeing then prob. 30 sec later the other dog came in on it and started treeing and she would still mess around there but she was everywhere then like you said i leashed her back and she was fine. ill keep messing with her some more. But maybe i should of singled her out like i did. But hopefully she gets over this cause i dont want no ME 2 pot lickers jacking her trees shes the one working for.

If she ain't just flat leaving outta there like you say. Just keep doing as you did last night. Might take a while but Id say she might come out of it.

Not uncommon for a dog to act totally different when hunting with other dogs for the first times.....

Going through that with my pup now...he is doing a real fine job alone...going hunting and locking down and staying treed under coon...

Hubted hin with his brother who is also doibg a fine job alone...mine was trained alone...his brother was hunted with their mom a good bit....my dog looks like a dumbie for the most part....will run the track and try to tree but he isnt locking down...usually boohooing around the tree...

He will get over it....just new to hin and something that needs worked on....i took the other approach to training and trained him 100% alone...he does a fine job alone...last nite he down right impressed me...3 for 3...stayed treed...2 tracks were good and hot and he ran them as such...3rd track hit a hole..he barked down it a few times and moved on which i like...i don't need a dog to show me a hole...he moved on hit a cold track and ended it under a coon...

I know he does a nice job alone...he is a week shy of a year old...now just gotta work on him with other dogs and get him treeing with them and holding pressure....i dont plan to take him to hunts till fall anyways...unless he gets goin good with others before then...thats the last hurdle for him....if he hunts how he does now he will have no trouble winning registered casts...

to be honest i dont know if i ever competion hunt that dog. if she got ate up on the tree again( which could very well happen in a competion hunt) she might not ever be the same. when bad things happen to a puppy its hard to get them over it, but the same thing can happen to a older dog and not bother him. its the same way with humans to.

I have seen other dogs do the same as yours. One way you might try is hunting her with a younger open mounth dog that isn't treeing yet. After checking the pup a few times, she'll see that the tree she left is better and soon will learn to ignore the pup. Next get the pup treeing and go from there. It is a long drawn out process but works with some. Another thing you could try is hunt her with two or three broke dogs. When she leaves the tree, catch her and drag her back and tie her a short distance away from the tree. Shoot out the coon and let the other dogs do the fighting. Don't let her have it. Sometimes that helps.

Get one get her reved up walk another dog into it also make her stay up there and tree key is its a controlled situation might take couple times and after dark but one thing is for certain if u wanna comp hunt they gotta stay under almost anything or they won't do very well
