I'll have to put on some of my old Flatt & Scruggs CDs in memory of Earl and his "wigglin" fingers.

RIP Earl

30 years ago I bought a banjo out of the Sears & Robuck catalog. I would listen to Earls instructional 33 record on mom and dads console stereo.I learned to play "Cripple Creek" that way.He has been a mentor to me for years and will continue to influence my style of banjo picking. He was always my measuring stick. The news hit me hard this morning.Choked me up to say the least.

Lester Flatt , Earl Scruggs, Chubby Wise , and Uncle Josh Graves set the world on fire with a new sound and were as good as any band in history. Not many of these old timers are left. Ralph Stanley is one of few remaining alive from that era..

RIP Earl.

I only live 12 miles from the Silver Buillet and the Orange Blossum Special but I could hear that lonesome whistle blow on cloudy nights such as this. Think I'll go on the poarch and take a listen. Good Night.

I was tuning in my ears and thought I heard a peep at Jacksonboro, then at Green Pond. It was headed South. Then good at White Hall and plain at Blake Siding which is straight out the front steps about 9 miles as the crow flys. Then Yemassee and gone.

R.I.P Earl
