distance from Greenville to Portland was 35 miles.Distance to Bluffton is well over 75 miles.Problem was most of my local guides hunt walkers and wanted to hunt Walker Days.We have no members that hunt English dogs.

LOL, you do not have to have an English to hunt at a Breed day......Distance is more like 65 miles.....not well over 75 miles.

Does UKC not have a program in place to catch distances?

65 miles seems way to close for a club to have a hunt the same weekend of a Breed Days.

Allen can you chime in?

To avoid conflicts, no two clubs will be scheduled
within 100 miles. UKC endeavors to maintain the
same dates for your licensed club events from year to
year; however, they may vary a week or so, depending
on the change in the calendar. Be sure to check
the dates indicated on the Confirmation. These dates
cannot be changed without approval from United
Kennel Club. UKC will mail the Confirmation to your
corresponding officer approximately four months
prior to your event. If there is any question about your
dates, contact the Field Operations office immediately. Clubs or organizations cannot advertise their
events until they have received a Confirmation of their
requested date from the United Kennel Club, Inc

June 9th is the date UKC gave us to replace the April 21st date.We had received a confirmation for the April 21st date.I sent the confirmation back in.IT WAS I THAT INFORMED UKC OF THE CONFLICT.They gave me the option of holding the event or changing it. I decided to change it for our clubs interest. Most of my guides were wanting to hunt Walker days.I took the date that was offered us.FYI drive time from Greenville club to Portland fairgrounds is 35-40 minutes. Drive time from Greenville club to Bluffton is 90+minutes

The rule Dale Young quoted is true with exception to the dates of the seven chartered breed associations events. Our policy is such that we advise clubs, within 100 miles of where those breed days being held, that they can choose to;
1) hold their date regardless
2) not have it but hold it for next year
3) reschedule a different date if available

Unfortunately, the deal with the Welch's club is that the UKC failed to advise them of this conflict. And we take full responsibility for it.
