Poll: What is your opinion

Should we bring back making the MINI-SLAMS a qualifying event thus giving the top 4 dogs a WIN and a qualifying slip to the World. It might help raise the entries in these events, and at the local club level give ALL owners of the 6 breeds a chance to go to the World Hunt?

Yes or NO

I for one would rather let a dog get qualified at a Mini Slam than at a Thursday night Breed hunt.

Same Here ...

I agree with Hobo...

Why did they drop it anyway? Around here your lucky to hunt 3 cast at a mini-slam since they stoped making them qualifying events, and the numbers havent went up at the RQEs. Here in Arkansas we only have 4 RQEs and 2 of those are held on the same night. I was unable to go to two of them and my dog was in heat for the other two. However I placed in 2 mini-slams. I would like to see them made qualifying events again so the people that cant go to the few RQE's can have a chance.

RQE

If you can't get the potlicker qualified in a couple of RQE events, how do you expect advancing through the quarterfinals. Changing just for the sake of doing something different isn't always better.

Looks like the % of folks would like to see the Mini-Slams come back and be a part of the World Qualifying system along with the RQE's. Must have alot of folks that don't hunt the hunts or don't care but so far still good number of response for a poll.

I would be in favor of a mini-slam, provided the state does not have a RQE.

In my opinion, whether a mini slam is a qualifier should depend on how many qualifiers there are in an area. I might be wrong, but I think there might be several RQE's in some areas and very few in others. In those areas where RQE's are few, then I would agree that Mini slams might be as good a way as any to increase the chances of getting good dogs qualified.

They kind of do this already with mini slams being qualifiers in states with no RQE's. The problem with this is that it still does not guarantee that qualifiers are distributed evenly. A minislam in a state with no RQE might be near a state border with a state with several RQE's. Thats not doing anybody any good.

If I counted right, I had 4 RQE's within about a 4 hour drive this past year. To me, thats plenty of opportunities to get qualified.

If someone else has 1 RQE 6 hours away then thats a problem.
