new with ukc need help

Ive been coon hunting for 6 years now..but its just been pleasure hunts. But nowyou im interestedjust in thre bloodlines and gettingyou into competition hunts.i just bought a male redtick and on his papers it sais hes purple ribbon bred. Can someone explain to me what that means?

that just means he is pure bread at least 3 generation. might be 4 generation to be purple ribbon cant remember for sure witch one it is.
