Question....

HUNTING IN A BIG HUNT ..WHO IS THE BREED WINNER....

DOG 1..WINNS CAST 750+ON FRIDAY THEN ON SATURDAY WINS CAST 550+

DOG 2.. WINS CAST WITH 125- FRIDAY THEN ON SATURDAY WINS CAST WITH 1125+

BOTH DOGS MAKE FINAL FOUR,WHO IS BREED WINNER ......DOG 2 PLACED 3RD AND DOG 1 PLACED..4TH...KEEP IN MIND THEY HAVE TAKIN THE TOP 4 DOGS FROM BOTH NIGHTS AND PUT THEM IN FINAL 4 FOR OVER ALL WINNERS.....

EACH OF OTHER BREED WINNERS GOT A VERY NICE PURSE.$$$
THE TOP 3 DOGS IN FINAL 4 DID ALSO 4TH PLACE DOG GOT NOTHING ....

I would say Dog 1. Didnt think you could win cast in UKC hunt with minus???

Since they were involved in final 4, I'd say the one placing higher on cast. BUT they should have said before the hunt if the breed winner was determined by CW's. Take care, Ron.

WHY WOULD THE OTHER BREED WINNERS THAT DID NOT GET IN THE FINAL 4 GET A NICE PRIZE OVER A DOG THAT GOT IN FINAL 4....THAT IS THE GOAL TO WIN THE WHOLE HUNT....YOU WOULD THINK REACHING FINAL 4 WOULD BE WORTH MORE THEN A BREED WIN....JUST DONT MAKE SINCE TO ME...OH WELL....

The Breed Winner is usually awarded by the Breed Association. First, you have to be a member of the assosciation. Usually the award is given to the "high scoring dog" of that breed. If you look at the award, it will say "high scoring dog", not Overall Breed Winner. This is how the association rules are worded. If you don't think that is right then you should join the association, go to their board meeting and make a proposal to change the wording.

MYSELF I HAVE BEEN A BREED MEMBER FOR ALOT OF YEARS AND KNOW HOW IT WORKS.. THIS HUNT I AM TALKIN ABOUT IS THE PURINA NATIONALS.(NOT A UKC HUNT).DONT SEE HOW A DOG THAT DIDNT EVEN GET IN FINAL FOUR COULD LEAVE WITH A PRIZE LARGER THEN THOSE IN FINAL 4 ...BEEN BETTER OFF NOT TO MAKE IT TO THE FINAL 4.....DONT MATTER JUST CURIOUS...

DONT THINK 2ND OUR 4TH GOT ANYTHING.....
