Kennel Floor Question
I am going to build an above ground kennel. I see some have the floors part wood and part wire. What size of wire do they use for the floor. Would you recommend using wire or not. Thanks
i built one above ground using 5/4 treated wood i ran it thru a table saw ripping it in 3 pieces each one is about 1 3/4 wide space them 1 in or so apart it works great

MY CHAIN LINK KENNELS SIT ON CONCRETE!!! IT'S REALLY EASY TO KEEP CLEAN, AND THERES NO PROBLEMS WITH DIGGING, HOWEVER, IT SEEMS TO BE EXCESSIVELY HOT IN SUMMER SO IT REQUIRES A SHADY LOCATION!!!
2x6 simple to clean,no space between them real nice kennels no smell

I just started building one over the weekend i used 1 x6 with a 1/2 gap between each one......i built mine 4 foot wide by 12feet long devided into 2 runs with the boxes off the side
My numbers 17402381711 send me a text and ill send u pictures if it would help any
thanks for the info
Do many people use the composite flooring?
I used a product in two of my above ground kennels and it is great! It's called Kennel-Tuff and comes in a 4'x2' sheet of molded plastic. I'm gonna order some more to build another couple kennels it's the best flooring out there in my opinion..
sometimes you can find a product called tenderfoot, it is expanded metal that has been coated in rubber. It gets used alot for hog farrowing crate floors. This stuf is really nice and sometimes you can find it pretty cheap if you only need a few pieces. I am building a new kennel with eight runs so I could'nt find a good deal on a bunch of pieces that matched so I am going with 2x4's that will be painted with deck paint. I will post pics soon.
