? About Judges
When the card is handed to a person the moh has picked as judge and for some reason he or nobody else in that cast will judge what does ukc say you should do?

JUDGES
BOB THERE SHOULD BE A JUDGE PICKED OUT FOR EACH CAST OUT OF THE ENTERYS THIS SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE THE ENTERYS ARE DRAWN AND EACH CARD SHOULD HAVE A GUIDE DRAWN A JUDGE DRAW A ONE OR TWO DOGS ACCORDING TO THE BREAK DOWN THIS IS THE WAY UKC WANTS ALL HUNTS DONE NOT DRAW TTHE DOGS AND TRY TO PICK A JUDGE OUT OF THE CAST A GOOD JUDGE IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR A GOOD HUNT HE OR SHE IS THE ONE THAT KEEPS CONTROL OF THE CAST AND KEEP IT IN ORDER.

thanks for the reply. I guess i wasn't clear. everything was done as you said should be . This was a good judge that had judged before but for some reason when handed the card said he wasn't going to judge, then none of the other 3 would take the card. What should the moh do?

The cast should have been scratched by the MOH.

BOB I HAVE WORKING HUNTS A LONG TIME AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM IF I THOUGHT THAT THE GUY HAD A GOOD REASON NOT TO JUDGE I WOULD PUT A NONE HUNTING JUDGE BUT OTHER THAN THAT I USALY CAN FIND THE AMOUNT OF JUDGES I NEED I DONT KNOW IF THIS WOULD GIVE YOU AS A MASTER OF HOUNDS THE RIGHT TO SCRACH THEM THE CLUB SHOULD AWAYS BE PRERAED TO HAVE A NONE HUNT JUDGE I NEVER SEND A TWO DOG CAST TO THE WOOD FROM THE CLUB HOUSE WITHOUT A NONE HUNTING JUDGE THIS KEEP DOWN A LOT OF PROBLEMS AND THEY DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE VOTE

i said above we finally got it worked out but i just wondered what ukc would tell you to do if none would have judged. we have a hard time with enough hunting judges and for sure non hunting. David i have never seen it happen either but i thought i was going to.

Bob, as David said it should be done with judges and guides being drawn to the card, but even more important is while taking entries I ask those I'm familier with and know are good judges and can handle a cast "do you want to judge" if they say no for any reason, I then place them into the regular draw box. If after taking all entries I go over my guides and judges to make sure I have enough to cover all cast. If not I go back and ask again till I have enough of both.
Did this judge agree while entering that he would judge ? If he said yes, then I would have to ask him why now he did not want to judge ? And again as David stated if the reason was that of a major concern then a non-hunting judge would be assigned.

Guys
Thanks for all the replies and i don't mean to wear everyone out with this . Everything was done by the book just as David and Mark have said it should be. I'm just asking if everything is done right and for any reason good or bad everyone in the cast says they won't judge what would ukc tell you to do? I know this is not likely to happen but it almost did and got me to thinking. Thanks .
