Late registration

We purchased our puppy on 12/19/2001 and didn't get his UKC temporary registration certificate until yesterda (long story, don't ask). The bottom left of the certificate says "Void after 08/06/2002". Is this an issue that we should deal with before sending in the completed form (bill of sale) and fee? Also, how do we know whether we can get get a six or seven generation pedigree?
