Garmin Customer Service
I would like to share with everyone my experience with Garmins customer service. First off, I had a Garmin DC30 that came with my Astro 220 bundle package. This DC30 is over 2 years old. The collar material was deteriorating, so I bought a replacement collar at the Winter Classic. I started taking the old one apart and noticed when I unplugged the little wire that is stitched in between the layers of the collar that the connection had very, very small brass colored pieces fall out. This connection in the collar is a very delicate one. There is also a fine needle connection up inside that mates to the collar if you are just a little off you can miss the hole and bend the needle connection off to the side. But it will still snap together making you think you have made a proper connection, so be careful messing with this needle type connection. Anyway, I knew mine would not work again properly after taking it apart and seeing the fine damage. I called Garmin, I talked to a very nice and helpful Lady in Olathe, KS. She check my numbers and informed me my collar was out of warranty, which I figured it was, but I wanted to see if maybe I could get replacement parts and try to fix it. She took down some info from me, and told me to package up the DC30 and send it to Olathe, KS. I packaged it up and sent it to Garmin on FEB.6 and got it back today on FEB.11. The USPS mail wasted no time getting my package delivered and wasted no time getting it delivered back to me. I sent it with delivery confirmation and Garmin sent it back to me with delivery confirmation. Also Garmin shipped it out the same day they received it on FEB. 8. I truly wasn't expecting to see the DC 30 for at least another week or two. They kept my old collar and sent me back a brand new one. Normal repair rates on these start at $89.99, but mine was done for a flat $50.00. You don't see customer service like this very often anymore. It was a pleasant experience and it makes me even more confident in owning my Garmin tracking system. I would like to thank the people of Garmin in Olathe, KS and the US postal service.

I had a similar experience with them. About 3 years ago the 'Enter' button on my handheld quit working about 2 months after the warranty expired. The guy I talked to told me to ship it to them and they would still warranty it because it was so close to warranty expiring. Less than a week later I check the mail and I find a brand spanking new Astro 220 handheld.
