finding old papers
I adopted two American Eskimos a year ago; I was wondering how I can find out if they have papers. I suppose it’s too late to get them since I don’t know who their parents are. I do know the names of the old owners. I don’t want to bother them with asking since giving the dogs up after having them 8 years was not a choice they really wanted to make. And I lost my other Eskimos papers was wondering how I could get a hold of those. Thanks!
Your only option is to ask the owners for the papers. If you were kind enough to rescue the dogs, I don't see why they would be offended at your question. Otherwise, you will not be able to obtain registration any other way.
For your other dog, download our Duplicate application at http://www.ukcdogs.com/rg/pdf/dupapp.pdf Be sure to read all instructions carefully. Duplicate papers are issued only to the registered owner on our records. If the registered owner and the current owner are not the same, than the current owner needs to ask the registered owner to request the duplicate. When the registered owner receives it, it can be signed over to the current owner. You will need to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader if you haven't already. If you have any trouble email me your name and address and the name of the form you need to sjonas@ukcdogs.com and I will send you one snail mail.
