Definitely a good testing ground for man and beast especially that time of the year!

You do not have to worry about Gators as long as you can out run them. Snakes in the swamps is a different story you know not all snakes rattle.

Nobody likes it cause they have ti drive to go now? Instead of bein there in jus a cpl hrs? I think the purpose of this is to make it equal for everyone, some may not have the money to drive north, when in jus a few short hrs be in louisiana.. I like the idea personally, some may not be able to attend the world if its held up in indiana or such places an vice versa, it gives everyone a chance to attend.. Jmo
world finals
well ukc you just lost money.aint many of us northern boys care to hunt where poisonous snakes and gaters thrive.i was wanting to make a run at it this yr.oh well.good luck ,i hope im wrong about the turnout.well see.

Great idea. I dont think northern La, is as known for its gators and such. snakes, maybe.
i beleive 1992 was the last time it has been this far south. im pretty sure ukc just gained some money from all us people who hunt just a few hrs away.

I think it's a bad idea myself..want to tree a lot of coon and be action packed doing it, then keep it up north........

SUCCESS IS A JOURNEY, NOT A DESTINATION!!!
If you have a coon dog it doesnt matter if it is north, south, east,or west. Its just different terrain. Save money and take a coon dog to a coon hunt.

The terrain nor the money is a big deal to me, and the dog I hunt was born and trained in webster florida so he can tree them south just as he can up north....I just think the hunting is a little better up here...But that's just my thought, if me and my dog are lucky enuff to get their than that's where will be..
crazy
why have a world hunt were your dog stands a good chance of gettin eat by a gator every one i have talked to hates the location of the world hunt this year why even waste your money on huntin a RQE this year
Soooooeeeeeeeee! Here piggy, piggy.
That's a bigger risk than gators.
Not all La. Is like swamp people.

I LOVE HOW THESE PEOPLE GET ON HERE AND PRAISE THE LOCATION AND THEY WON'T EVEN BE TRYING TO GO . ANYONE WITH A DOG WORTHY OF GETTING TO THIS POINT COULD NOT HONESTLY WANT TO TURN THEM LOSE IN THIS ENVIROMENT. I KNOW THE GUYS THAT LIVE THAT WAY ARE HAPPY ABOUT IT I DON'T BLAME THEM THATS WHERE THEY LIVE SO THATS WHERE THEY HAVE TO HUNT I JUST THINK UKC COULD HAVE PICKED A BETTER LOCATION THAN THIS . MORE CENTRALY LOCATED FOR EVERYONE INSTEAD OF BEING WAY NORTH OR WAY SOUTH WHY NOT SOUTHERN ILL. OR OR SOUTHEASTEN MISSOURI JUST MY OPINION THAT IS ABOUT THE MIDDLE FOR EVERYONE

I don't know where you guys think Shreveport, La is. But you don't have a clue what your talking about. The likely hood of you encountering a gator is about the same as being struck by lightning. We have woods, pines and oaks and farm land, and coons just like most of the rest of you have. Most of you have rattlesnakes and copperheads in your states, maybe not cotton mouths. The average high temp for September is 87 compared to St. Louis at 78. I don't really think it's gonna be that big of a culture shock for you.
?
What satellite clubs will be used and how far will casts have to drive to put all hunters in good hunting territory? I know it is a couple of hours to the east side of La. where we are but we do have all hardwood timber and plenty of coon.
Shreveport is in the northwest corner of La. close to the Texas line, just south of Texarkana, Arkansas on I-20. It is not in the swamps of La. It is pine and hardwood mixed. There should be a good crop of mosquitoes, cottonmouths, and rattlesnakes to contend with but not many gators. It is not cajun country. ARMADILLOS!!! Pine thickets, barb wire fences, casinos, and bluetick country.....ya'll come on down now, you hear!!!! LOL

Guess it can't be in your back yard every year. If I'm lucky enough to make it I guess ill be there.

Nothing currently
You people whine too much! IF you have a dog your not ashamed to bring to the south and you think it is capable of winning you will be there. If not you will find some excuse to stay home.
There is nothing wrong with N. La. Good huntin good Clubs to host it and no worse conditions than anywhere else..
We all can't have it at our home club every year..
If you have to hunt your dogs in a 100 mi. radius of home to feel comfortable then stay home..
We on this side of the Miss.. get tired of driving east and north to the wld..
If you go to N.La. and can't tree coons you are probably like some of the rest of us ,,,,, GET A BETTER DOG!!!
