Dog Kennel Plans???

I am planing to bulid a new kennel 8'x50' concrete floor with storage area roofed with houses on the outside I may even go 10'x50'. My main concern is drainage... So I am looking for ideas. Any and all will be appreciated... Thanks, JR

I would run a 1/4in per foot , more if you wanted . 1/4 in will get the water off .

i would also put a trap in the middle of each run and pipe it away from the kennel runs so when you hose them out alot of the water will run away from the runs instead of making a mess around the outside of the runs and like the other post put some drop to it so the rain water will also run off jmo

thats not a bad set up i had about the same thing when i had my hounds i had minimg belt on my floors they was easy to hose off but you had all the mess all aroud the outside i kept mining belt in the front of mine so i could get dogs out and feed not having a mess in front of the doors had to shovel evrything after i washed my runs out

I have mining belt in mine as well and have since added a treated deck on the front. But it is messy and has an odor during the heat of summer I do keep it sprayed down bleached, limed etc. but it still happens. My big problem is I live inside the city limits and they are on me alot for different reasons. So I planning to move back into the courty so they all can kiss my A**. And I want a better kennel when I do...

yea know what you mean about these city people they just dont understand us country folks i always used strait creolene to scrub my kennels out 1 time a week till it gets to cold i have 2 beagles left got 2 4 by 6 runs keep them about 4 ft off the ground that creolene keeps the smell down but by the size of your kennel might take quite a bit i just clean out all the crap out hose them i use a spray bottle spray it on the belting and scrub it then rinse it off and then let it dry good put dogs back in
