Shouldn't be unless it is spoiled or contaminated with bacteria. Some people feed their dogs a raw diet. I sometimes give mine raw chicken as a supplement to their food as a treat from time to time with no problems.

Ive been told that the pork will have worms in it and you need to cook it. But feed it an keep them wormed out.
theres a condition a person or animal can get from eating raw pork called triginosis, its a parasite causes a cough you hack it up swallow it back down start the whole cycle again. cook all pork.
Raw
I feed raw for awile and the dogs did great. You shouldn't feed dogs cooked food though especially bones. Dogs in the wild thats all they eat is raw. I wish I could have keep feeding raw but it was to time consuming.
Since I moved to my current residence five year ago I have been feeding a partial raw diet to my hounds. The local butcher shop drops off a twenty five pound bag of beef tips an leftovers from when they butcher beef an my hounds love it. I feed approxamatly two bags a week, saves on dog food also an the beef is free. I have heard raw meat has worms but when i took mine to the vet this fall with a stool sample she said my hound was clean as a whistle not a worm to be found so i am starting to doubt the raw meat an worm theory but if I was gonna feed pork i probably would cook it,but i feed the beef raw.

Just wanted to drop a few lines on the topic feeding your dog Raw Pork.
It is full of harmful bacteria, The worms everyone is talking about isn't intestinal worms it is blood worms, such as Anaplasmosis. Causes a animal to be anemic and you will have to do treatments of some sort of Tetracylcine.
Pork is also the leading cause of Pancreatitis. First onset sings of pancreatitis is Vomiting, yellow diarrhea, lethargic, anorexic, excessive water intake, etc.
I don't even feed cooked ham or pork to my pets. Not healthy.
Going to feed raw food stick with beef, deer and on occasion's chicken. But chicken sometimes can be as harmful as pork because of Coccidiosis, mud fever, new castle disease, etc.
I feed my hounds and house dog raw hamburger sometimes, raw beef hides, etc.
When I feed them other stuf such as turkey, chicken, beef, etc. I always boil it at 160 degrees for a little bit and then let it cool and give it to them.
Hope I was of some help.
Best of luck and Happy Hunting.

i have been feeding raw pork for years with no side effects... unless you feed a hog slop you will not have to worry about the worms... they have a test now to even test them and if you get caught selling one thats been fed slop there is a big fine
quote:ive done that at the local china restraunt lol
