Is it REALLY that tough?

How many of you have ever put something in the classifieds, and posted your phone number with the request that folks that are interested to call you, only to get 33 PMs, and half of them the folks leave their phone number with instructions to call THEM?

I just don't understand....is it really that difficult to comply with someone's request?

lol i feel your pain , my beef is people put thing up forsale and you have no idea where the h*ll they are from, i live in ohio if you live 400 miles away more than likely im not going to be interested in whatever your selling, so if you dont have it in your profile more than likely i wont even consider you or whatever it is you are selling, i dont understand why people cant fill out there profile of course some are hiding mabe and dont want people to no who they are and where they are from, just fill out what state your from its simple , or like ron white says YOU CANT FIX STUPID

Yea, give me a call...

I have some pointless questions to ask, even tho I really have no intention of buying anything.... I would like to tell you about a great dog I had that has been dead for 20 years.

Part of it is the time we now live in, many people today rarely have phone conversations with their friends, its all about texting. Messages, pm's, text, its all less personal and requires a lot less commitment.
The part of them leaving their number when you have left yours always makes me chuckle. If I'm really interested in something I'm going to make a list of questions and call, most times you can tell a lot about someone and what they are selling when you actually talk to them.
If someone isn't going to call when you've posted your #, but wants you to call them, leads me to believe that they have tight pockets and are more than likely not going to purchase anything.....just sayin.

Maybe i'm a moron but when I call someone and have a list of questions. I don't want to be a bother to them.

In the past i've called during supper, feeding dogs, sleeping, and getting kids ready for bed. So leaving my number and you calling at your convenience seems to get a better response. Just a thought.

dont know if that works out good or not i think alot of people call just to be nosy they know the either aint really wanting buy what you have or really aint got the money if i call about something and its not priced i ask what they want and if i dont have that much money i thank them for thier time and tell them i aint got enough money but if i see a price and its something i might be intersted in i call but if i dont have the money thier asking i dont waste thier time asking them a bunch of questions for something i know i dont have the monet to buy but thats me

Maybe I am different than most on here but I would prefer to answer some PM's at my own leisure and communicate that way until someone is real serious about buying a dog than having to sit through 10 calls a day from somebody telling you about the coons they treed last night and how good their dogs are.

Coonhunters are mostly good people but I HATE talking on the phone with them because it is so hard to get off the phone with them without hearing about all the great dogs they have had and how many coon they have been treeing, etc...

My wife tolerates a lot when it comes to my coonhound hobby. One thing she doesn't tolerate is me sitting in the other room rambling on with a coonhunter on the phone.

If it is something I'm extremely interested in, I don't hesitate to call.

I figure in this day and age, the best way to communicate on dog related deals is to send a message with some point blank questions and hope for point blank answers. If I'm still interested after that I'll call. Until then, why waste each others' time. Some folks aren't good at communicating by pm or email, I understand that. If they'd rather I call that's fine.

I figure I can send pms or emails at any hour of the day, and folks can respond any time of the day. No one is interrupting anyone's work or family obligations that way.

The thread responses and pms telling someone to call them, that is funny. That's like leaving your number or business card at the car dealer saying "Hey, I'm interested in buying that Silverado in the lot. If you want to sell it you can call me." It doesn't work that way.

Its a two sided coin, Some on here arent bright enough to even list what part of the country they are in. I think if your selling a dog and are serious, at minimum list the dogs age, asking price, location and something about its ability Then you will probably get calls from serious people.

I can't count how many times I have flat out refused to sell somebody a dog/puppy. What is really funny is the attitudes when you tell them no you will not sell to them. I've had a couple that wanted so bad they tried to have a friend buy.

These are dogs, not vehicles or tools.

One of the main requirements to getting a dog/pup from me is being smarter than the dog. I can't tell you how many people get disqualified right there, LOL.
