Led lights ?????????????????????

I got a question about LED lights. Is it just me or is the coloring or brightness wrong ? What I mean is this, I was out in the yard with several different lights shining up in a tall tree. No leaves, just looking at forks and limbs and stuff. Compareing. The other lights weren't as bright as the LED lights but the other lights you could see further into the tree to the branches and forks deeper into the middle of the tree. The LED's were the brightest but the light just hit the first limbs and branches and then just glares off them right back at your eyes. It's like it don't penetrate into tree and let you see anything past the first stuff it hits. Anyone else noticed this ?

I've seen them with an amber colored glass lense and it looked just like a regular light but brighter.

i have noticed it too. lots of what i call reflection with LED on the brighter lights. the laser torch is bright enough to shine and find coon but it don't have the bounce back or reflection for some reason. the other led head i had on my belt light i sold and put the wheat head back on. burn time is were i see the led being better. but i do say i love my laser torch 2 light. best i have seen

I don't know about that Jason but I know at least a dozen coonhunters around here that have switched to LED's. All of them, including myself, still have their 5100 bulb heads, mine is sitting right there in my top storage ready to go. Nobody has switched back. Nobody.

If he's there. I'll find him with my super bright LED. No way Id go back. I love it. I do know some people who do say they can't find em as good with one though.

I personally think it takes some gettin used to. It's a different kind of light, in a different spectrum and to me it made the color of the coons blend in to the trees better.

Now that I am used to them though it's fine.

Also the coons seem to look better at the LED's than they did with the regular heads. Maybe it's just me but it sure seems like it.

I have the really good cap lights now and I don't see myself going back to a corded light. They have come a very long way since I got that "Smart Light" (which was a great light for what it was and I don't regret buying it, it just wasn't bright enough to replace my belt light). Now the caplights ARE bright enough to replace the beltlights and for me I will continue to hunt with the caplight. Just so much easier gettin in and out of the truck, no cord to hang on anything, no belt or box to keep you from fastening the seatbelt and now, at least with the Boss and the Sunspot, the brightness is there to replace my belt light.

Now I'm lookin into one of the huntin vests LOL.
