to competitive?

I've got a dog that will go and get it done by herself but if you put her in a cast she goes crazy. She's super fast but in a cast it's like she cant stand a dog getting a first tree on her so she'll turn into a slick treeing idiot. By herself she is one of the most accurate dogs I've ever hunted with. Fill free to give advice

How old is she? I have one when he was younger would do the same thing, treeing out of jealousy.Super accurate all alone,an Idiot with a cast. After a few good whoopns he grew out of it!

I have shocked dogs for racing with other dogs, I all depends on the dogs natures as to how or even if that will work, if it were me I would try to find a buddy to hunt with that has s dog that will not race with her. Most of the time it takes two dogs to race. I would also make sure that other dogs are not chasing or bothin her some how, have seen things like that make a pretty good dog fall apart.

I didn't bother shocking. I got rid of mine before It could train something else to do it. I can't stand that or a road runner.

Yes they do. But this dog was way past 2 yers old and I would walk them 20 yards in the woods and cought her catching a pups eye and hear them slip back to the road and be gone. She would hunt if she could not cooerce a pup or dog into raceing away with her. But that kind of dog could ruin everythging you hoped to have. Too soon isn't soon enough in that case. And beside that I sold her to a feller that wanted a "go yonder" and "get treed" and by gawd he got one.
