Treeing question...

Hi all...I am working a young dog. This dog will strike and trail a coon no problem. The issue is that we are having trouble locating the tree and treeing. What happens is that the dog trails and then bogs down in an area about 25-30 yards in diameter. Just moving around opening in this area. Is there a way to help a dog find the tree?? This dog is just 12 months old now...so still pretty young. Any advice?

Thanks!!

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM , RUNS GOOD TRACK THEN CANT FIND IT,
SO I WENT AND BOUGHT AN OLD DOG TO HUNT AND AFTER 2 NIGHTS SHES IMPROVING SHE TREED A GRINNER LAST NITE WITHIN 5 MIN OF TURNING LOOSE AND SLAMMED IT HARD,
BUT THE OLD DOG WAS TREED WITH A COON 20 YD AWAY AT THE SAME TIME

Wouldn't hurt to hunt it with a GOOD broke dog. Remember "good" is key. Not one that trees grinners, Ill at the tree, tree jacker etc,
Also just letting the pup work it out is is very good. This is the only way it will learn . My older dog would bog down a lot on older tracks when he was a year old and i wanted to just go in there and kill him. My dogs 4 now and he has treed 47 singles in the last 9 nights out.. It just comes with age.
Good luck and if your close bring ur pup
Over and we will go for a hunt.
