What is the significance of UKC registration?

I have always had AKC registered dogs, but recently purchased a German Shepard who is both AKC and UKC registered... what is the significance of this? Is this any type of advantage?
Thanks

This is a great advantage. Your dog can be bred to a dog in either registry and there will be no problem registering the litter. Your dog can also play in the events offered by either registry and most important of all, your dog is registered with the largest working dog registry (UKC) in the world. In your breed this should be important to you.
