If my dogs tree it and do it right during season I'll shoot only one out of every tree they make with a coon in it. We have absolutely so many coon around here they need thinned out.

I always watch the Yuan value (China's currency) because they are the main buyer of fur. Last year (Jan 2011 auction), through FHA, MN coon averaged $17.40 and Easterns were $13.26. The strength of the Yuan is projected to be up slightly (0.3 yuan) in February 2012 vs. Feb. 2011 (our dollar is weaker). This means they pay the same but it is equal to more US dollars. My guess is that an eastern will sell for $13.89 average and the MN coons $18.23 at the FHA auction house in January.
there's my stab in the dark. Let's see if it holds.

Hides
Did groenewolds take everthing or did they throw a bunch back in your face and say "no value" lol we have gotten that, the coon nazi, lol. How many top coon did you get?
On the carcass. Took 22 in. Got one back. To small.
Here's the break down
Qty Price
1 @ 20.00 = 20.00
1@ 15.00 = 15.00
10 @ 10.00 = 100.00
7 @ 5.00 = 35.00
2 @ 2.00 = 4.00
174.00 diivided by 21= 8.28 approx.

Jamesbalog,
Getting the fur to the auction house isn't the tough part..... if you know how and have the equipment to correctly put up your coonhides getting them to the auction is pretty easy.. The work is in the proper handling of the fur..I've been shipping to NAFA for the last 6 years but I have never shipped them anything even though you can mail them the hides if you chose... Most states have a recieving depot and have pick up routes.. I take mine to the man he gives me a ticket and I sit back and wait on the auction.. He staples a bar code to all your fur and sends it to the auction were it gets throwed in with 500,000 other coons. When a lot with one of your coons gets sold they scan the coons barcode in that lot and put the money in your account.. One auction I had 93 coons up there every one was in a different lot.... Go to NAFA's website and click on shipping to nafa click on depots and look for the guy closest to you or click on pickup schedule, then your state, and see if he has a pickup site close.. If you want to make what your furbuyer makes this is the only way.. Jeff
Sold to groenwald tonight, skinned green coon, averaged 7.28. thats the worst avg. we have gotten in a few years. Had some real big heavy coon in there too. another reason to leave them in the tree i guess.

Thanks guys, I'm not worried about getting them put up I will take care of that. I just wasn't sure on how to ship them all to the auction. And how the whole process works. I will try it out this year.
Thanks again
